Mississippi’s Table 100
Why We Went: I was featuring Table 100 in my Valentine’s Day restaurant article, but we were blown away by our dining experience and I had to write a review on it. From the moment Blake (my boyfriend) and I walked in, we were greeted with super friendly hosts and a warm atmosphere. We had a wonderful evening and even better food. The best part of the night was seeing all who Table 100 appeals to: people getting off work, families, couples on dates, women having drinks, and even the Governor.
What We Had: I had the Flash Fried Jumbo Shrimp served with smoked tomato tartar sauce, seasonal slaw, and hand-cut fries. Oh my goodness, it was divine. The shrimp were huge and cooked to perfection. Even though the shrimp had been fried, they were not one bit greasy. Blake had the Cowboy Ribeye and I had never seen him so excited to eat a steak. It was served with asparagus as well as potatoes and it was wonderful. We also got to try the Tuna Sashimi, which was plated beautifully, and Osso Buco (veal shank containing marrowbone, stewed in wine and seasonings), a real treat for us. We finished our dinner with the Warm Cheesecake Brownie topped with vanilla ice cream and served with white chocolate sauce and fresh berry coulis. It was the perfect ending to our meal. To put it simply, everything we had was delicious!
Something Special: Table 100 gives back to the community. They use Farm to Table ingredients which help local farmers. They also donate part of gift card sales to local organizations such as The Mustard Seed and Friends of Children’s Hospital. I think this is awesome!
Noteworthy: The drink menu is to die for. Not only does Table 100 have a huge wine offering and awesome Cruvinet system, but they also serve specialty cocktails and craft beer. Among their current seasonal cocktails are a Pumpkin Pie Martini, Winter Sangria, and Pink Ta-Ta (X-Rated fusion liqueur, Malibu coconut rum, grenadine, pineapple juice, maraschino cherries).
Best Part of the Meal: The service was wonderful! Ms. Jimmie was our server and she was definitely on top of her game. Servers leave cards on the table with their names on them and I thought it was a great touch. At one point, I saw Chef Mike Römhild go sit with a man who was eating by himself and strike up a conversation. Manager Chris was mingling with guests throughout the restaurant as well. It was also really cool to see the Governor of Mississippi walk in to have dinner.
Bonus: Table 100 has brunch on Sundays. Some of their menu items include Eggs Benedict, Crab Cake Florentine, and Buttermilk Fried Chicken. Yum!
What Needs Improvement: I can think of nothing that needs improvement. The food was absolutely delicious and we had incredible service.
My Rating Scale 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest)= 10!
