Cruising is our favorite way to travel. Our cruises are almost always selected based on primo destinations, itineraries, and prices. We prefer an inside cabin as it is easier to sleep with it being so dark inside and it is much chapter than other choices of rooms (you can typically take 2-3 cruises with an inside cabin versus 1 cruise with a balcony stateroom). Princess Cruise Line is our favorite company to travel with but who are we to turn down any others. We find that Princess has more experienced cruisers onboard, interesting itineraries, activities that we like, ships that are easy to navigate, and rewards for frequent travel that is superior to all the others. We have also cruised with Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian, Viking River Cruises, and Royal Caribbean.
The best part of cruising is waking up somewhere different every day. It is nice to have a floating hotel and everything included in one fee (okay, I know many cruise lines nickel and dime you to death but stay with me…) plus having activities planned for us, should we feel like doing them. You can do as much or as little as you choose. Cruising also introduces you to new food and drinks, entertains you with talented singers, musicians, and performers, gives you a playground for nightlife, spa treatments, sports, gaming, and Melody’s favorite activity, trivia. If you ever see a highly competitive person on your cruise ship scoping out the really smart people to add to her trivia team, that would be her. After all, the valuable prizes (a deck of cards, luggage tag, chip clip, 24K gold plastic ship on a stick award) are so worth it.
