Surely you have a favorite go-to restaurant in your hometown. Johnny D’s Market & Bistro, located on the barrier island of Vero Beach, Florida, is that place for me. My husband and I crave their Chicken Caesar Salads so often, that we get them to go and keep a few on hand at the house. I recently had a sit-down experience at Johnny D’s with my daughters, Taylor and Peyton, and son-in-law, Blake. We had a pleasant experience and I wanted to share it with you.
Dining at Johnny D’s
We arrived at Johnny D’s Market & Bistro and opted to sit inside, due to inclement weather. The delicious smells from the kitchen were enough to motivate us toward dining inside, too.
Lunch is served Monday through Friday 11AM-2PM at Johnny D’s. The restaurant is closed until dinner time, but you can still visit the market.
I started my meal with a cup of Johnny D’s hearty Italian Pasta E Fagioli soup. The combination of beans, tomatoes, peppers, onions, and everything else was incredible! The portion size was perfect, plus it came paired with oyster crackers, the only type of soup in my opinion. I would love to have their Pasta E Fagioli recipe.
Our Favorite Lunch Choices
Between the four of us, we had a 10″ Personal Cheese Pizza, Grilled Chicken Greek Wrap with Pasta Salad, Albacore Tuna Salad, and the Grilled Chicken Cobb Salad. My Cobb salad was heaping full of bacon, fresh Roma tomatoes, Bermuda onions, hard-boiled eggs, and tangy gorgonzola, all on a bed of Mesclun and Romaine lettuce. Their creamy onion dressing was divine! Blake commented on his tuna salad being really good, too.
Peyton’s Grilled Chicken Greek Wrap was a combination of her favorite ingredients and flavors. She raved about it being one of the best sandwiches she had eaten in Vero Beach. Chicken with Pepperoncini peppers, Kalamata Olives, red onions, Feta, and a zesty Greek Vinaigrette made up the wrap. The side of pasta salad was noteworthy, as well.
Don’t Forget the To-Go Items
Johnny D’s Market & Bistro is more than a restaurant, it is also a market. They have upscale meats and cheeses, canned and jarred vegetables and sauces, plus many more gourmet choices. Try their Italian gelato as well. If you are wanting food to-go, try Johnny D’s awesome brick-oven pizzas or one of their numerous salad options. Johnny D’s can also cater your next event.
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and offers friendly service. Though we had a nice experience dining in at Johnny D’s, I still prefer making my beloved Chicken Caesar Salad a to-go item. I’m sure that you will enjoy everything and anything you order from their menu. I would love to hear about your visit.
