Vero Beach has a pretty good offering of restaurants, but for those desiring an oceanfront view, choices are limited. Mulligan’s Beach House Bar & Grill is the best option in town for a wide variety of foods and easy accessibility with spectacular views of Florida’s beautiful surf and sand. They have both indoor and outdoor seating with a colorful collection of chairs right in the sand to relax in during or after your meal. It is no reason that locals and tourists alike find Mulligan’s Beach House is one of Vero Beach’s go-to spots for food and fun.
Why We Went: I wanted to take my soon to be son-in-law for an oceanfront brunch while he was in town so he, my daughter Taylor, and I headed to Mulligan’s. Since they have a great ambiance and huge selection of quality food items, I knew he would like it.
What We Had: Taylor ordered the Monster fish & chips, always a favorite at Mulligan’s. I opted for the spinach benedict and Blake had the bagel casino sandwich, scrambled eggs with sausage and melted cheese on a toasted ciabatta roll.
Something Special: Mulligan’s is open 365 days a year for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Noteworthy: The sides and sauces at Mulligan’s are really delicious. Their tartar sauce would please the most finicky eater while the roasted home fried potatoes are seasoned and tasty on their own, not just thrown on the plate with nothing special as with some restaurants.
Best Part of the Meal: I really love the spinach benedict. Mulligan’s does not just serve some boring ole spinach, but they actually make a creamy parmesan spinach that gets scooped atop a toasted English muffin and topped with poached eggs and yummy hollandaise sauce. If you follow my blog, you know that I am crazy for benedicts and this is one of my favorites in town. It is not only clever, but a perfect vegetarian option, too.
Bonus: Mulligan’s has a VIP local’s club card that gives you free food after qualifying for so many points through purchases as well as priority seating and discounts on your meal throughout the week.
What Needs Improvement: The service is sometimes hit or miss at Mulligan’s, but on this visit it was wonderful. The prices are also a big steep comparing to other Vero Beach restaurants.
