Old Venice Pizza Company
Why We Went: During my recent trip to Oxford, my friends Rachael, Witney, and I decided to eat lunch on the Square. After much debate, we finally all agreed on Old Venice Pizza Company because pasta and pizza sounded delicious!
What We Had: I ordered chicken alfredo, Rachael had spaghetti with meat sauce, and Witney chose a pepperoni pizza. All three items were plated beautifully. My chicken was absolutely delicious and my alfredo was pretty good as well (I am partial to the alfredo sauce that I make).
Something Special: All lunch items are served with your choice of soup or salad. If you are going for dinner, order the Trio appetizer, a combination of spicy dynamite shrimp, handmade mozzarella sicks, and crawfish rolls. You will not regret it!
Noteworthy: The drink menu at Old Venice Pizza Company is awesome. They have a “Sparkler” list which includes drinks made with champagne. I love the name! Also, they offer a 2 for 1 special on alcohol throughout the week during happy hour.
Best Part of the Meal: Hands down the complimentary bread and oil. Their bread is always warm and full of delicious herbs. It is worth the trip itself!
Bonus: Old Venice Pizza Company has a separate bar upstairs, called the Burgundy Room. It is a smaller and more intimate bar on the Square with a very laid back atmosphere. They also have oversize couches which makes it easier to hang out with larger groups of people.
What Needs Improvement: If you visit Old Venice at a busy time, the line for the bathroom can be quite long as there is only one for women and one for men. But, since it is located in a small, rustic building, I do not think that is something that can change.
Total Check Before Tip: My lunch pasta was around $12. Honestly, I forgot to take a picture of my receipt and I paid in cash.
