Primos Cafe is a fast, casual restaurant in the Jackson, Mississippi area. It was opened in the 1920’s by a Greek immigrant baker named Angelo “Pop” Primos. Even after all of these years, Primos Cafe still remains incredibly popular among Jackson residents for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With their old-timey decor, home-cooked food, and awesome baked goods, it is no wonder why Primos is always busy, serving Southern food to city folks.

Why We Went: For the first time in months, Blake (my fiancé) and I were out running errands before noon. We could think of nowhere we would rather go for breakfast than Primos Cafe.
What We Had: I opted for the Early Bird Special with a biscuit, cheese grits, bacon, and scrambled eggs. My biscuit was fluffy, bacon crispy, and eggs cooked perfectly (I ordered the cheese grits for Blake), so I was a happy camper. Blake had the Breakfast Sandwich (scrambled egg whites, ham, and cheese all on a biscuit) and hash browns topped with cheese. He loved every bite!
Something Special: Primos Cafe has an in-house bakery that makes treats from scratch daily. Their cakes are so popular, that Primos will ship them anywhere in the country!
Noteworthy: On weekdays, Primos offers incredibly popular lunch Blue Plate Specials that always feature traditional Southern food.
Best Part of the Meal: Primos Cafe has the best sweet tea! You can even take your cup home with you.
Bonus: There is a “Take Away” cooler inside of the to go door which is always stocked with Primos’ salad dressings, pastas, cakes, potato salad, pimento cheese, and their famous chicken salad. Guests can come in and pick up these items at any time. These grab-n-go items are perfect for parties, office lunches, or tailgating in The Grove.
What Needs Improvement: It would be nice to have a few more breakfast options since Primos serves breakfast all day.
Total Check Before Tip: $17.48
