Why We Went: I was visiting my friend Judy in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and she wanted to take me somewhere impressive for lunch. Little did she know that Peter D’s was my kind of place with a nice selection of upscale, fresh, and trendy foods. The restaurant is stylish on the inside and out with fancy fabric menus. I liked everything I saw. We hit the jackpot here!
What We Had: Judy and I began our lunch with the Blue Cheese Toast and chose the Tennessee Burger (topped with cole slaw) with fries and the “Ugly Chick” with steamed broccoli for our main courses.
Something Special: A student from the college Judy retired from was our server. He now teaches at the college and works at Peter D’s part-time. We had impeccable service! He even took our photo with the restaurant’s camera and provided us each with a copy of it. Customers photos may be uploaded to Peter D’s website as well.
Noteworthy: I ordered the “Ugly Chick ” sandwich and OMG was it delicious! The buttery sourdough bread was topped with shredded chicken, goat cheese, crispy, thick bacon, mayonnaise, and Peter D’s luscious Ugly Marmalade.
Best Part of the Meal: Our appetizer was toasted French bread topped with creamy mozzarella, cheddar, and blue cheese and was simply over-indulgence at its finest. We were about to fight over who got the last piece!
Bonus: Peter D’s ugly marmalade (that comes with the Ugly Chick sandwich) is to die for! One of the best things I have eaten all year. I wish they would share the recipe; hint hint.
What Needs Improvement: Nothing!
Total Check Before Tip: Unsure (I was treated; thank you Judy!)
