Why We Went: My friend Lynne and I often meet around Vero Beach for lunch. On this particular day, we were both craving a swanky comfort food kind of lunch and knew that the Lemon Tree would fit the bill.
What We Had: Lynne ordered the Lemon Tree Signature chicken potpie- bursting with roasted chicken, vegetables, and puff pastry crust, and I opted for the vegetable quiche of the day.
Something Special: The quiche of the day is always a delicious choice at Lemon Tree. It is served with a side of your choice and I like it paired a house salad rather than fresh fruit. The portion size of the quiche justifies the steep price.
Noteworthy: Each table is given a small basket with a homemade mini-muffin for each person in your party when the server drops off the check. The muffins are always soft, warm, sugary, and my favorite part of the meal. Everybody likes something free.
Best Part of the Meal: The lady beside me made me try her lobster salad, one of the daily specials. She seriously insisted that I sample it once it arrived. Who am I to argue with a mouthful of lobster? The meat was super fresh, perfectly poached, and made me wish I had ordered that instead.
What Needs Improvement: Lemon Tree only offers Eggs Benedict and/or hollandaise on weekends, which is a reason I seldom eat there on week days. It would be nice if they made this a permanent option on their daily menu.
Total Check Before Tip: $12.04
Worth Mentioning: The Lemon Tree is one of the Vero locals favorite go-to places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They offer fresh, quality ingredients and classic as well as current menu items. I have never had a bad meal there plus it is right across the street from the beach. Parking is door-front and there are plenty of shops to browse in around after lunch.
