Shortcut Gameday Meal with Tony’s® Pizzeria Style Pizza
My family loves pizza. Does yours? Fall is the perfect season to feast on delicious pizza, which pairs wonderfully with football game day(s). My kids are grown now, but I so remember being in the stands to cheer on our local high school team (George Washington High School…state champs as well) weekend after weekend.
Now, I watch football with my daughter and son-in-law, who is back in school full-time working on his master’s degree. With his full-time job and school work, and our blogging and traveling schedules, we have little time together so these fleeting moments are cherished. We want to spend our time together, not fussing over a big meal in the kitchen. Here is how Tony’s® PIzzeria Style Pizza offers a great tasting shortcut for saving time and money. We have paired the cheesy pizzas with a side dish you are going to rave about, BBQ green beans. This may become your favorite game day go-to meal!
A Meal in Less Than 30 MInutes
I’m sure your schedule is just as busy as ours, so we have created a dinner combo to please the entire family. What are we eating? Our two favorites, Tony’s® Pizzeria Style Pepperoni Pizza and Tony’s® Pizzeria MEAT-TRIO® Pizza with a side of yummy BBQ Green Beans. You (even a beginner cook) can have this quick and tasty meal on your table within 30 minutes flat. Anyone can spare 30 minutes to feed their family before heading out the door to support their local college or high school teams! In fact, Tony’s is offering a chance to win $3,500 for your favorite high school sports team, plus many gift certificates from Walmart and other prizes. How cool would that be? #winwithtonyspizza

An Unbelievable Value
Frozen pizzas are an affordable choice, found in your local retailer’s freezer section. We opted for Tony’s pizzas for this meal. Did you know that Tony’s, a Salina, Kansas institution, has been serving the community with great pride for over 50 years? We are amazed by how authentic Tony’s pizza is. You can taste the 100% pure mozzarella cheese, which we burn a little on the edges because we like it that way. The tangy tomato sauce was perfectly proportioned and I felt it had plenty of appetizing meat toppings.
My husband and I both love a thoroughly cooked pizza (no doughy or thick crust at this house!) and we found that with Tony’s crispy and crunchy crust. If we order pizza out, which would set us back $15-20 for one pizza, I end up throwing away all of the crust pieces. With Tony’s, we are able to eat the entire pizza and it only cost $2.50 each at our local Walmart store. Now that’s a price you can’t resist!
Our dinner for the five of us (husband, two daughters, son-in-law and I) consisted of two pizzas, which was exactly right. With the cost of the recipe below (we had everything on hand except the green beans), our entire dinner cost for five people was LESS THAN $7. Wow! Even I am impressed, but allow me to impress you even more. With this Ibotta offer $1 off 2 pizzas to save even more money!
Preheat the oven to 375°. (the pizza box says 400° but we are lowering it to cook both items at the same time). Prepare the BBQ Green Beans below while the oven heats. After it is in the casserole dish and ready to bake, go back to the pizza. Take Tony’s pizzas out of the box, remove the wrapper, and place on center rack in preheated oven. (your green beans should be done and in the pan by the time the oven is ready) Set timer for 19-20 minutes.
NOTE: Back when I was first married some 25 years ago, and a novice cook at best, I made my husband a frozen pizza for dinner. He remarked that it tasted incredibly weird and burnt. Note to self: remove cardboard round from underneath the pizza if your frozen variety has one. Luckily, this brand does not.
After baking both items for 19-20 minutes, carefully remove from the oven and allow to cool a bit. Slice pizza, dish up the green beans, and eat! Simple as that!
