I have changed my thoughts about hotels over the past few years. As much as I love luxury accommodations (Marriotts, Ritz Carltons, and stylish W Hotels), I am leaning toward historic inns and bed & breakfasts as I grow older. Regardless of what accommodation I choose, I try to get the best price possible and I am not choosy about the location of the room in the hotel or what it is overlooking. My preference is 4-5 star hotels unless I am there just for sleeping between journeys. Traveling is all about prioritizing and any traveler should know what they are willing to splurge for as well as what they will sacrifice. I like having an on-site restaurant, friendly hotel staff, comfortable bed full of pillows, inviting tub for soaking, mini-fridge, free WIFI, and high end toiletries.
Pet friendly? I like! Breakfast included? Even better! Valet parking? A must! My pleasure Mrs. Pittman? Where do I book!

Exploring the culture of a place is the best part of my trip. Whether it is touring contemporary museums or historic buildings, fancy art galleries or UNESCO World Heritage sites, taking a cooking class or learning how to do a local handicraft, sign me up for all of them! Perhaps it is my curiosity or the fact that the more I see the more Jeopardy questions I can answer, but I love experiencing new things. I think that being an Aquarian has something to do with the fact that my likes and interests are always evolving. I am all over the board when it comes to things that I like and the more exotic, odd, new, or unknown, the more I like them.
