Alabama Beaches Best Crab Dip in Gulf Shores and Orange Beach

I don’t know about you, but I love crab dip. It pairs perfectly with a beach vacation, and there’s no shortage of restaurants serving it on Alabama’s Gulf Coast. Here is my list of the Alabama Beaches best crab dip throughout Gulf Shores and Orange Beach.

CoastAL Orange Beach

Orange Beach’s CoastAL Restaurant serves fresh, local seafood, chef inspired dishes, seasonal favorites, and indulgent desserts. The waterfront restaurant is part of a massive CoastAL complex, also home to an open-air bar and beautiful lifestyle store.

The Gulf Coast Blue Crab Dip at CoastAL is made with local blue crab and parmesan cheese, and is served with toasted bread. It has a much creamier texture than the other crab dips on this list; but, I like it. And, the soft bread pairs very nicely with it.

Lulu’s

Next on my list of the best crab dip in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores is from LuLu’s.

This restaurant might serve scratch-made dishes created by Lucy Buffett herself and showcase live music, but the emphasis at LuLu’s is fun. In addition to the restaurant, there’s also an arcade, ropes course, very nice gift shop, and large sand pit on property.

LuLu’s Crazy Sista’s Crab Dip is made with sweet claw meat, Swiss and cheddar cheeses, green onions, and mayonnaise. It is served bubbling hot in a mini cast iron skillet with fried flour tortilla chips. The dip is awesome, and the fried flour tortilla chips make very tasty dippers.

You can also enjoy LuLu’s Crab Dip as a sandwich. The Crab Melt is made with their crab dip spread open-faced on toasted French bread.

Cobalt

This crab dip is paired with another seafood item that I absolutely love—shrimp!

The tagline at Cobalt is “contemporary coastal cuisine at its best” and after recently dining here, I can confirm that to be true. Cobalt serves authentic dishes crafted by renowned chefs in three distinct kitchens. Located under the Perdido Bay Bridge, every table has a spectacular view of the bay.

The Cobalt Crab and Shrimp Dip is a hot creamy blend of fresh blue crab and tender bay shrimp with roasted sweet red peppers, plus Parmesan and Swiss cheese, and grilled French bread. The dip is really delicious, and the soft grilled French bread is a great accompaniment.

Wolf Bay

I’ve saved the best for last, because the area’s best crab dip comes from Wolf Bay Restaurant.

Wolf Bay is a family-owned restaurant known for serving high-quality fresh seafood and its family-friendly atmosphere. Many of Wolf Bay’s dishes are made from the restaurant’s original recipes, dating back to 1973.

Their Cha Cha’s Crab Dip is a signature cream cheese crab dip topped with sweet bourbon sauce and bacon, served with fried pita points. The dip itself is fantastic, and I love the pita points sprinkled with cheese that it’s paired with.

If you only have time to try one crab dip in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, make it Wolf Bay’s!
