The Best Epcot Food and Wine Festival Hacks
For some people, fall means pumpkin spice lattes, breaking out sweaters and boots, football games, and a colorful change of scenery. For me, fall means Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival at Walt Disney World.
The 2019 International Food and Wine Festival takes place from August 29th to November 23rd giving you the chance to try cuisine from all over the world. During Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival, you can sample food and beverages from more than 30 Global Marketplaces.
Having attended the Food and Wine Festival for several years now, I have learned some tricks of the trade. Here are our Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival hacks!
Note: Our post includes pictures from past Epcot Food and Wine Festivals. All of these food items are not available.
Study Epcot’s Food And Wine Festival Menu
Since there are so many food and beverage offerings at Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival, it’s always a good idea to look at the menu online ahead of time. Pace yourself as you walk around the park, only eating your most desired items, instead of becoming full half way around the World Showcase and missing out on the rest of the Festival’s offerings.
We like the menu on this site because it includes pictures and prices of each item.
Using a gift card will save you time when paying throughout the park.
There are two Festival-Themed Disney Gift Cards available for purchase at Epcot. One is a wearable mini Festival Gift Card. You can add as much money as you want (minimum of $15) and it can be reloaded at any time. If you will be coming to Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival multiple times, opt for the limited-release Festival Gift Card. The $250 activation includes a special lanyard and medallion.
Enjoy A Free Concert
Eat To The Beat is a special concert series that takes place during Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. During the 2019 Festival, see the Plain White T’s, Smash Mouth, 98 Degrees, Boys II Men, Hanson, Sugar Ray, Jimmie Allen, MercyMe, 38 Special, and more for free.
These 30 minute shows take place daily at 5:30, 6:45, and 8:00 PM in the American Gardens Theater, across from the American Adventure Pavilion.
See the full Eat To the Beat lineup.
Visit On A Weekday
Epcot is much less crowded during the week. Try to plan your visit on a Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday. If you are coming to Epcot any other day of the week, skip the lines by arriving at 11 AM.
Practice patience; everybody is just as excited as you are for Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival!

Download The (Unofficial) Food And Wine App
On your smartphone, download the WDW Food and Wine App. It is a great alternative resource for planning your visit to Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival plus keeping track of all that you have sampled.
The app features a menu with prices, if the item is included in the Disney Dining Plan, and map. Create your own “wish list” and rank each food after you have tried it.
Play Remy’s Ratatouille Hide’n’Squeak Scavenger Hunt (2018)
Kids of all ages will enjoy searching for Remy around the Festival. The Remy’s Scavenger Hunt can be purchased throughout the park.
Buy Your Park Ticket In Advance
This is one of our hacks for two reasons: you won’t want to stand in the Florida heat waiting to buy a ticket and you can book three FastPasses for the day of your visit 30 days in advance. .
Make Use Of Epcot’s Food And Wine Festival Passport
Pick up your Food and Wine Festival Passport when you enter the park. Use it to keep track of what Global Marketplace you tried something from by marking the page with the corresponding sticker (acting as a passport stamp).
The Passport is generally laid out in the order that you will walk around the park.
Looking For A Place To Stay In Orlando?
Visit The Festival Center
The Festival Center is inside of the park on the left, behind the Electric Umbrella/Innovations and beside Mission: SPACE. Here, you an find exclusive Food and Wine merchandise including t-shirts, tumblers, and pins. You may also catch a celebrity chef cooking demonstration, culinary seminar, or mixology class.
Most importantly, the Festival Center is air conditioned!
Share Food With A Friend
One way to sample more food and not over eat, is to go to the Festival with a friend. Each of you can try the dish and save some room in your bellies for more!
There are several gifts exclusive for Passholders during Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. Pick up a Chef Minnie themed Passholder magnet when you visit between August 29th and October 14th and a Remy themed magnet October 15th through November 23rd. On your fourth visit, you will receive a complimentary Passholder Chef Minnie wooden coaster set.
There is also special Food and Wine Festival merchandise only for Passholders.
Set A Budget
One of our most important hacks for Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival: set a budget and stick to it! It’s hard to stay on track when so many dishes sound delicoius–but you’ll thank us later.
Food at the Global Marketplaces can be pricy, but alcohol is even more expensive. Be mindful of this when choosing what to try.
