The Sports Book & Victory Kitchen

A great spot for sports fans and bar food lovers, The Sports Book & Victory Kitchen is open weekdays from 4-8 PM and weekends from 10 AM to 8 PM. The menu features classic bar bites like wings, mozzarella sticks, nachos, pizzas, and burgers—a perfect place to grab a bite while catching the game.

When road tripping Nevada, you quickly realize how vast and remote parts of the state can be. Cell service gets spotty fast, and the last place you want to lose signal is in the middle of the desert, surrounded by extreme heat and miles of wide-open, desolate terrain. That’s why I always recommend carrying a good old-fashioned paper map.

My go-to for exploring the Silver State is the Nevada Road and Recreation Atlas, but for bigger, multi-state adventures, I never leave home without my trusty Rand McNally Road Atlas — it’s been my ultimate travel companion for years.

Virgin River Resort Casino Spa & Golf

Virgin River, sister property to Casablanca about 7 minutes away, is one of the three casinos and resorts in Mesquite. The casino is at Exit 122 off I-15, literally a stone’s throw from the interstate (I-15), and has four dining options. Kids will love the arcade, while adults will appreciate the affordable room rates, choice of eateries, and multi-bingo sessions daily.

A casual Mexican eatery, La Fonda impresses with its Queso Fundido, enhanced with chorizo and fresh avocado. The yummy Chicken Fajitas are served with rice, beans, warm tortillas, and pico de gallo.

La Fonda’s guacamole, served in a fried red tortilla basket, adds a special touch, and kudos for the excellent customer service. Our California friends picked this as the best Mexican restaurant in town. Would you agree?
