Bobby’s Restaurant and Lounge is a casual dining spot on Ocean Drive in downtown Vero Beach, Florida. It is one of the places for locals and has been in the community for over 35 years.
Not only a thriving sports bar, but this cozy jewel serves top quality food and provides service to exceed customer expectations. The decor takes you back to the days when the Dodgers, who practiced spring training baseball in Vero Beach, used to spend much time there.
Parking is free, the location is primo, and the doors are open to serve you both lunch and dinner. You’ll even have a patio option during certain times of the year.
What to Eat at Bobby’s
My first visit to Bobby’s was with my local book club. I was shocked to see how packed it was during lunchtime when other Vero Beach restaurants barely had any guests. Many of the locals were already aware that Bobby’s caters to the customer, and makes their food desires a reality.
My table’s orders were a Caesar Salad (with the blackened fish-of-the-day), a Turkey Reuben, Wedge Salad, Lobster Roll, and Belly Buster Hot Dog.
Not that a plain hot dog would ever be my order, but after that plate got delivered, with a big serving of homemade potato salad, I was a little jealous. I see where the name came from after seeing the size of this ginormous hot dog.
Other Noteworthy Items
The menu offers combos with a cup of soup and half sandwich that comes with a side dish of your choice. I’ve also heard many people rave about Bobby’s juicy burgers. Bobby’s has a Sunday brunch, too.
While our food was delicious, I loved and appreciated the attentive customer service. Our waitress topped off beverages without being asked and checked back frequently to see if we needed anything. Service in Vero Beach is not always the best, but Bobby’s was exemplary.
As it turns out, I’ve now been back to Bobby’s several times, and my new go-to meal is the Blacked Chicken with a side of Caesar dressing. You can’t go wrong with anyone on the menu, honestly.
