BRAVO! Italian Restaurant and Bar
My husband (Blake) and I are trying to branch out from our usual restaurants in the Jackson, Mississippi area and try new ones. We had been looking at BRAVO!’s menu for a while and finally decided to have dinner there. Blake and I could not have been more impressed with our meal. Our food was excellent! We loved the whole ambiance of the restaurant and will definitely be back.
I was in love with BRAVO!’s decor from the moment that we walked in. The restaurant has chic light fixtures, adorable table settings, and a huge mural on the wall right inside of the door. We instantly felt welcome.
In addition to a dinner menu, we also received a gluten sensitive, seasonal cocktail, and wine list. The wine menu was so large that it was in a binder. This is the largest selection of wines that I have seen in Jackson and BRAVO! has won many awards for it.
Our table setup was perfect. I thought the candle added a little something extra and I am all about a bottle of olive oil on the table. When Phyllis, our server, delivered fresh bread, I was sold on BRAVO!.
Blake and I had difficulty picking out an appetizer at BRAVO! because they all sounded so good. After much debate, we chose to ‘live it up’ and ordered the Crab Cakes and Herbed Flatbread. Let’s start with the Crab Cakes. They were heavenly! Each bite was packed full of crab and not fillers, like many restaurants. They were, hands down, the best Crab Cakes that I have had in the Jackson area. The cakes are served in a tomato-tarragon beer blanc.
Our second appetizer, the Herbed Flatbread, was baked with herbed olive oil and parmesan cheese. It, too, was wonderful. I enjoyed the blend of herbs and even put some of our table’s olive oil on the crust.
After our appetizers, Blake had a Classic Caesar Salad. As with all Caesar salads, it consisted of romaine hearts and parmesan shavings. Blake loved the Caesar dressing and described it as “tangy”. The garlic croutons were a nice touch.
For dinner, I had BRAVO!’s Classic Fettuccine Alfredo and opted to add chicken. Heavy cream, parmesan, and nutmeg make the sauce. I consider myself an Alfredo expert, and this one did not disappoint. My chicken was cut into thin slices, which I appreciated. BRAVO! gets two thumbs up from me for this meal.
Blake ordered an Angus NY Strip Steak accompanied by honey-black peper jus, sweet potato risotto, and seasonal vegetables. His steak was cooked to perfection. The vegetables helped to compliment the overall flavor of the steak. Blake could not have been happier with his dinner.
Blake and I were too full for dessert, but BRAVO! offers an impressive selection.
Bravo to BRAVO!
Blake and I had an excellent meal at BRAVO!. From the decor of the restaurant and food, to service, everything was wonderful. We will be back; I cannot wait to try their brunch menu. Whether you are dining with family, friends, or a significant other, you are sure to have a wonderful meal, and evening, at BRAVO!.
