CJ Cannon’s: A Favorite Vero Beach Restaurant
Having lived in Vero Beach a couple of years, I was constantly hearing about CJ Cannon’s Restaurant and Lounge and finally got around to trying it. I first went there for breakfast and found the food to be of high quality and the service commendable. My second visit was with my book club, and again, I was impressed all the way around.
My third visit (mind you these were all within 3 weeks of each other, don’t judge), I took my breakfast loving husband and he gave it his approval. I am pretty sure we had found our go-to place for breakfast dining. It is also a superb choice for taking friends since dining is at the airport with fantastic views of the planes.
What We Had: For breakfast, CJ Cannon’s has incredible omelets, breakfast casserole, Eggs Benedict (and several varieties), waffles, and pancakes. The hollandaise sauce is on point, and the pancakes are fluffy and light.
For lunch, the Taco and Greek salads are delicious choices, but the Club Sandwich is always satisfying and filling. The Chicken Salad plate, pictured below with lots of fresh fruit, is incredible, as well.
CJ Cannon’s: A Special Dining Experience
Something Special: The California Benedict is my favorite thing on CJ Cannon’s menu. The English muffin is topped with grilled tomatoes, avocado halves, perfectly poached eggs, and delicious hollandaise sauce. I can attest to how good it is. The eggs are cooked to perfection; not too runny and not too done.
Noteworthy: CJ Cannon’s soups-of-the-day were Chicken & Wild Rice, Crab & Corn Chowder, and Cheese with Sirloin Tips. Between my group of friends, we tried all of them. I was pleased with my cheese soup, chock full of sirloin chunks. It was surprisingly light and delicate, plus the meat was extra tender.
Best Part of the Meal: CJ Cannon’s menu is packed with classic, healthy, and trendy choices. The prices are reasonable and the quality ingredients are fresh. It is truly hard to narrow down your selection because of the great choices the restaurant offers.
Bonus: CJ Cannon’s is beside the airfield at the Vero Beach Airport. You can watch the private planes land and take off while enjoying your meal and beautiful scenery. Vero’s flight school pilots practice their runs throughout the day as well. Download the Flightradar24 app on your phone to key in the aircraft’s tail numbers and find out personal information about the planes on the runway.
Total Check Before Tip: $10.35 breakfast, $8.08 lunch (water to drink)
