Delicious Jacksonville Restaurants (By Neighborhood)

Delicious Jacksonville Restaurants (By Neighborhood)

Jacksonville, Florida’s dining scene is huge, diverse, and honestly one of the best surprises about the city. From casual breakfast joints and incredible burgers and pizza to fresh seafood and trendy chef-driven restaurants, there’s truly something for every craving and budget. I’ve rounded up some of the most delicious Jacksonville restaurants by neighborhood—spots with consistently good food, fun vibes, and meals that keep me coming back.

Beaches Area (Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach, Atlantic Beach)

If you’re staying near the coast, you’re in luck—this area is packed with some of the most fun and flavorful Jacksonville restaurants of all.

One of my go-to favorites is TacoLu. It’s lively, colorful, and the food absolutely delivers. The street tacos are packed with flavor, the street corn is off-the-hook good, and the pet-friendly patio makes it even better. This place gets an A+ for the vibe and food.

Nearby, North Beach Fish Camp is a must for seafood lovers. Think shrimp platters, fresh fish, and those skinny fries that are just plain addictive. If you like coleslaw, this place has the best! And if you don’t, you may come to like it after trying it here.

For something a little more laid-back but equally delicious, Hoptinger is a fun spot with elevated pub food. Grab a burger (their sliders are epic!), try one of their house-brewed beers (only 62 varieties), and enjoy the lively atmosphere.

Hungry late at night? No worries. They have a late night menu from 10 PM to 2 AM.

Riverside & Avondale

This is one of Jacksonville’s most charming and walkable areas—and the food scene here is just as appealing.

Biscottis is reason enough to head to the Avondale neighborhood. Their menu is consistently excellent, and the outdoor café seating makes it perfect for a relaxed brunch or lunch. If you need suggestions, the pumpkin seed crusted goat cheese medallions salad with fresh berries is capital O original and so darned tasty.

For something a bit more polished, River & Post is one of my personal favorites. The rooftop is ideal for drinks or brunch with a view and they have a special limited menu. The bacon and brie jam bread bowl is exquisite, as well as the brunch Chicken & Waffles.

And if you’re craving barbecue, The Bearded Pig is hands-down one of the best in town. The meats are excellent, the sides are just as good, and the service is always top-notch. Like seriously, this staff is so friendly and helpful it makes me want to visit often.

San Marco & Southbank

San Marco has a slightly more upscale feel, but still keeps things approachable.
BB’s Restaurant and Bar is a standout for brunch. The menu is impressive, but don’t skip the desserts—the cakes (pink champagne cake slice, please!) and pies are massive and absolutely worth it (you can take them to go, too).

For a more swanky-but-casual vibe, Midtown Table delivers chef-inspired dishes, gourmet desserts (the best panna cotta ever!), and a fantastic outdoor patio that is pet-friendly. Bonus: easy parking, which is always a win in this area.

Town Center & Southside

This is where you’ll find a mix of national favorites and local staples—perfect for a casual meal or quick stop.

M Shack is a local chain that consistently delivers great smash burgers, fries, shakes (adult ones, too), and even a pet menu (yes, really). We can always count on the food to be tasty, quick, and well worth the price.

Another favorite is Hopdoddy Burger Bar. The burgers are some of my favorites in town, and the hand-cut fries (parmesan truffle, nom!) are a meal all on their own, but don’t sleep on the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich.

Bonus, Hopdoddy’s patio is pet-friendly.

And don’t overlook Nordstrom’s Bazille at the St. Johns Town Center. It’s easy to forget about, but it’s always a solid option for a quick, tasty bite when you’re shopping. The Little Gem Caesar and Crab Bisque are absolutely delightful.

Local Favorites You’ll Crave Again

Jacksonville restaurants have some standout spots that deserve a category of their own.

Tony D’s New York Pizza is my personal favorite pizza in town, maybe even all of Florida. On weekdays, you’ll find a lineup of 12–15 specialty pies available by the slice—perfect for trying a little bit of everything.

V Pizza offers creative Italian brick oven pies in a fun, family-friendly setting. Many locations have trivia nights and even play areas for kids. It’s almost unfair that Jacksonville has so many great pizza joints.

And if you’re looking for an unbeatable lunch deal, Picasso’s (Where Food is Art) is hard to beat. A slice, salad, and drink for around $12—and those salads are seriously delicious. I think it’s the best lunch deal in JAX.

Breakfast & Brunch Worth Waking Up For

Jacksonville does breakfast really well.

Grumpy’s Restaurant has been voted #1 for a reason—just be prepared for a wait (and go early if you can). From quiche to cinnamon roll pancakes, Benedicts, and scrumptious omelettes, this place is sure to satisfy.

Scramblers is another solid option of Jacksonville restaurants with breakfast served all day. Fluffy pancakes, omelets, and some creative dishes make up part of the menu while sandwiches and salads make up the rest. And don’t miss out on the firecracker bacon.

For something a little more elevated and Instagram-worthy, Metro Diner—a beloved chain—serves up some seriously impressive comfort food and breakfast dishes. The scramble bowls are my fave— but how can you go wrong with all the breakfast goodies drizzled with sour cream or hollandaise?

A Few More Must-Try Spots

A couple more places that deserve a mention:

Palm Valley Fish Camp is one of several “fish camps” in the area. The menus are similar across locations, but each has its own vibe—and they’re all worth trying. And shoestring fries…need I say more?

Le Petit Paris Cafe is a lovely spot (with six locations) for French-inspired dishes, pastries, and coffee. Grab a macaron, baguette sandwich, and French soda for a great on the run takeaway meal.

And Prospect at Five Points is perfect for wine, cocktails, appetizers, and a relaxed evening on the patio. The pistachio crusted goat cheese balls is a must! Apparently the local drink faves are espresso martinis and Aperol spritz based on the patio vibes.
