Although Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are the most prominent towns making up Alabama’s Gulf Coast, we typically include Perdido Key (on the tip of Pensacola) since it’s just across the Perdido Beach Boulevard bridge.

Serving the best bar fare on the island, Anchor Bar’s menu consists of burgers, wings, ramen, salads, and ground wagyu tacos. I always love a Southern eatery that uses Mason jars for the drinks, a bonus in my book!

Experience fine coastal cuisine at Cobalt, The Restaurant, next door to the Caribe Resort. This chic and modern Orange Beach eatery has fantastic waterfront view, live music, and an open, airy dining room. Cobalt’s authentic dishes are crafted by renowned chefs in three distinct kitchens. The service was impeccable. You can arrive at Cobalt by boat, too.

The Crab Trap is a funky, fun, fish house on the Gulf of Mexico that’s perfect for the whole family. It has rustic, Florida decor, a large playground, boardwalk leading down to the beach, and great views of the water. The Crab Trap is everything you came to the beach for!

DeSoto’s Seafood Kitchen is a timeless Orange Beach tradition, voted best lunch and dinner for 14 years in a row. The two-story nautical looking restaurant fits in with the coastal Alabama scenery perfectly, and the service is commendable. With comfort food favorites and a dozen yummy side dishes, this no-frills eatery delivers a great plate of food satisfaction.

Flora-Bama Yacht Club
The Flora-Bama Yacht Club is an open-air, waterfront restaurant in Perdido Key. The Yacht Club’s menu is full of seafood items, some even putting a spin on traditional dishes. Locals or beachgoers who just want to relax and eat good food will love the Flora-Bama Yacht Club. The most famous Flora-Bama establishment is the Lounge, open for 53 years, and sitting on the Alabama/Florida State Line. The Flora-Bama Lounge is open to families of all ages until 5:30 PM, but only those 18 years of age and older after 6 PM.

Tacky Jacks has been open for 40 years–and with its waterfront dining, island-inspired cocktails, laid-back atmosphere, and sandpit for children, it is easy to see why. It is even considered the best waterfront seafood restaurant and tavern in the area. Make sure to sign a piece of Duck Tape and stick it on the walls before you leave.
