12 Exciting Things To Do At Downtown OWA

Foley, Alabama’s Downtown OWA is enjoyable for the whole family. This shopping, dining, and entertainment mecca draws visitors from all over, anxious to explores its pedestrian-only streets and small town inspired landscape. A new adventure awaits at every turn, but here are 12 things to get you started unlocking the fun at Downtown OWA.

1. See A Show At The OWA Theater

OWA Theater is the centerpiece of Downtown OWA’s entertainment offerings. It hosts an abundance of events, from Halloween horror shows to productions like Holiday Express: A Christmas Spectacular and Menopause the Musical. State-of-the-art sound, lighting, and seating make it a comfortable and enjoyable venue.


2. Have Dessert At The Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor 

Downtown OWA’s Hershey’s Ice Cream Parlor has a 1950’s vibe, transporting you back in time the moment you walk through the doors. Try one of their delicious waffle cones or other sweet treats.


3. Try Moonshine

Stop in Murder Creek Distillery and try moonshine that was distilled, mixed, bottled, and labeled on site. Sample Peach Cobbler, Cotton Candy, Southern Cherry Bomb, Dixie Chocolate, or Alabama Apple Pie just to name a few of their tasty flavors.


4. Shop Native Treasures

Downtown OWA’s Native Treasures brings together an incredible array of apparel, jewelry, home décor, art, and gift items. These inspired and authentic Native American creations will bring beauty to your home, wardrobe, and gift-giving.


5. Play Games At An Arcade

The Arcade at OWA is home to more than 50 larger than life games. With their state-of-the-art play-card technology, it’s easy to move from game to game and accumulate points without paper tickets.


6. Eat Appetizers And Watch A Sporting Event

Downtown OWA’s grooviest restaurant has a scratch kitchen serving a twist on many traditional sports restaurant offerings. Watch sports on the largest screens on the area and try some of Groovy Goat’s unique dishes, like:

  • TOTchos (tater tots smothered with chili, queso, chili, lettuce, and jalapeños)
  • Pickle Fry Up (crispy pickles, poblanos and jalapeños served with creole mustard and ranch)

7. Sip Wine At C’est Le Vin Wine Bar

Sip wine and share memories at Downtown OWA’s C’est Le Vin Wine Bar & Shop. This family owned business also serves spirits, craft beer, and charcuterie boards.


8. See A Show At The Brandon Styles Theater

From dazzling magic tricks to spot-on celebrity impressions, Brandon Styles does it all in his life family-friendly shows. The theater is also plays host to Gulf Coast Comedy Fest, Murder Mystery Dinner Shows, and more.

With just 130 seats, the performances at the Brandon Styles Theater are intimate and unforgettable.


9. Watch The Fountain Shows

At night, dance along to the Downtown OWA fountain show. The fountain synchronizes to music and lights, making for an entertaining activity the whole family will enjoy.


10. Attend A Special Event

OWA offers endless family fun all year long, with a calendar full of exciting activities. Visit in December to see Downtown OWA transformed into a winter wonderland, or come in October and experience all things fall.

Attend a movie night in the summer, watch a special parade on Mardi Gras, or see fireworks on the 4th of July. There’s always something cool going on at Downtown OWA.

11. Have An Italian Meal

If you’re craving an Italian meal, look no further than Valerio’s Pizza & Italian. This Downtown OWA quick-service restaurant serves salads, paninis, pastas, and sweets, all made with fresh ingredients. Enjoy your food at the restaurant, or take it to go.
