Fin & Pearl
Nashville, Tennessee is one of my very favorite cities. I have enjoyed seeing it grow tremendously over the past few years. Incredible restaurants have come from that growth, putting Nashville on every foodie’s radar.
When my husband (Blake) and I visited in October, we had the opportunity to eat at Nashville’s first fresh seafood restaurant, Fin & Pearl. Although we immediately liked the restaurant from the decor and ambiance, we fell in love with Fin & Pearl after trying their tasty dishes and learning about the restaurant’s sourcing mission.
About Fin & Pearl
Fin & Pearl is “Nashville’s first fresh seafood restaurant committed to sustainable and traceable sourcing, Earth-friendly operations, and providing an approachable dining experience served with Southern hospitality. Our mission is to create a sustainable, earth-friendly seafood restaurant in both our practices and buying strategies while communicating with our customers honestly and with transparency. We hope to inspire others to embrace these simple tenets through our culinary efforts and a kind hospitable attitude.”
The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and brunch on the weekends in Nashville’s Gulch area. Fin & Pearl’s menu includes a little bit of everything (oysters, tuna, shrimp, lobster, chicken and waffles, caviar, octopus, avocado toast, jambalaya, pasta, scallops, french toast, beef tenderloin, and pork chops) while the drink menu features wine, craft beer, and cocktails.
Blake and I started our meal with Fin & Pearl’s famous Crab Dip. This creamy crab dip (cold with hunks of crab in it) is accompanied by passion fruit sweet and sour and wonton chips. The dip and wonton chips pair perfectly with the passion fruit sweet and sour.
Fin & Pearl’s Crab Dip is incredibly unique, more like a deconstructed crab rangoon. It is unlike any that I have ever had.
Since it sounded so good, Blake opted for a bowl of Fin & Pearl Chowder (clams, bacon, potato, sweet corn herb cream). He loved the soup’s rich, velvety taste and the smokey addition from the bacon. It really hit the spot!
…Even Better Entrees
We looked at the menu for more than twenty minutes before choosing what to order; it all sounded so good! I finally decided to try two things, the Lobster Shells and Cheese plus the day’s special Cod Bites.
The Lobster shells and cheese was phenomenal. I am a huge mac and cheese fan and this did not disappoint. The lobster was fabulous; I could have eaten another order!
The Cod Bites were fried and served with a dill sauce. Although the cod was good by itself, it took on a whole new life when eaten with the dill sauce. Blake sat by waiting for me to finish eating so he could clean up what was left.
Blake ordered the Fresh Catch of the Day: Swordfish from Melbourne, Florida with lima bean and squash succotash. He absolutely loved it! The Swordfish was cooked to perfection; it was very moist and had a mild, yet sweet flavor. The vegetables complimented the sweet flavor of the Swordfish. Blake gave this dish a 10 out of 10!
We Couldn’t Pass Up Dessert!
After looking at the dessert menu, we decided that the Chocolate Peanut Layer Cake sounded too good to pass up: chocolate fudge cake, peanut butter frosting, chocolate covered nougat. Oh my gosh! Although the cake was good, the peanut butter frosting is what won me over. It was the perfect way to end our night at Fin & Pearl.
Come Experience Fin & Pearl
Blake and I had a fantastic dinner at Fin & Pearl. You might not believe it, but we enjoyed our meal in less than an hour. We were blown away by how quickly our food was prepared. Fin & Pearl is a great dining option for those heading to a concert at Bridgestone Arena, the bars on Broadway, or just a movie with the family. You can enjoy an incredible dinner and not have to spend all evening at the restaurant, a HUGE plus in my book.
