The Reef In Biloxi, Mississippi
The Reef is a casual, waterfront restaurant with delicious Seafood dishes and affordable prices overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in Biloxi, Mississippi.
My husband (Blake) and I recently spent some time blogging on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Our first stop was at the Reef in Biloxi, where we had a wonderful meal and took some great pictures of the Gulf. The Reef definitely set the bar high for the rest of our time in Biloxi!
About The Reef
The Reef in Biloxi is a two story building, providing an elevator for guests. The Reef restaurant is on the first floor while the second floor is home to the Sky Bar. This is an open-air venue with a band area/DJ booth and 30 beers on tap. The Sky Bar offers live music, karaoke, and drink specials. Check out the Reef’s website for the Sky Bar’s entertainment schedule.
The Reef’s decor is very beachy. Pictures of fish and beach scenes hang on the walls, which are painted bright colors. Even the menus have beach images on them. The Reef’s bar area is very nicely decorated and has multiple TVs, perfect for sporting events.
Traveling with young children? The Reef in Biloxi has the largest children’s menu on the coast.
Going to the beach and eating Crab Dip goes hand-in-hand. Needless to say, Blake and I had to order some. The Reef makes their Crab Dip by adding lump crabmeat to white queso, resulting in a liquid consistency. Y’all, it was awesome! I could taste fresh chunks of crabmeat in every bite. The Crab Dip came with soft, lightly toasted pita chips. The soft pita chips combined with the tasty dip was a great way to begin our time at the beach. Truthfully, I wanted to go back the next day just to get some more Crab Dip… It was that good!
The Reef insisted that we try some of their Oysters, especially since I had never eaten one before. When our Chargrilled New Orleans Style (butter, garlic, and parmesan) and Crabmeat Monica (lump crabmeat with garlic cream and panko crumbs) Oysters arrived at the table, I could not wait to dig in. The presentation was absolutely beautiful. Lemons and sliced bread adorned the plate, too. Both types were delicious, but my favorite were the New Orleans Style. I really enjoyed trying something new!
First Lunch In Biloxi
I ordered the Firecracker Shrimp: fried local shrimp tossed in Firecracker sauce on top of an orange and ginger slaw. The Firecracker sauce had a kick to it, but did not set my mouth on fire (which I very much appreciated). The fried shrimp were light and coated perfectly in the sauce. I loved my lunch!
Blake ordered the Tuna Tacos. He described his tacos as “bursting with flavor” and said that the tuna was perfectly seared. The Reef’s Tuna Tacos come with a side of lemon vinaigrette, but our waitress brought him some Firecracker sauce as well. He devoured those tacos!
Views Of The Gulf
The Reef has a really nice patio out back, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. This is Mississippi Coastal dining at its finest! The Reef has a beautiful beach-front property in Biloxi.
