The new Hard Rock Daytona Beach Hotel, Florida is a savvy addition to the area, with stylish digs, a killer happy hour, and concert venue.

Sitting on the oceanfront in iconic Daytona Beach is the new Hard Rock Hotel. Bringing a sense of sophistication and high-energy fun to the beachfront’s main drag, the Hard Rock is a vibrant addition to the landscape. I was thrilled to visit during a travel conference.

This stylish hotel caters to the guest having an ultimate good time from the moment you valet park your car (check out the Ferrari parked off to the side) to the speedy check-in at the front desk. Oh, and be thinking about what style of music is your favorite as the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach uses that data to make your stay even more personalized.

Gorgeous Rooms

I entered the spacious digs of my Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach room to find two queen-sized Sleep Like a Rock beds with white linens that lined a funky, colorful wall adding a nice pop of color to the room. Two blue velvet chairs with ottomans sat in the corners near the floor to ceiling window. I didn’t score an ocean view, but the city view afforded me great shots of the sunset. A desk area was underneath the large flat-screen TV and had a cool lamp, mini-fridge, and in-room coffee maker. The TV was playing music that I had selected earlier at check-in when they asked what genre I preferred. I picked 70’s so coincidentally, one of my favorites, ELO, was playing for me. That was a nice touch.

The bathroom was all marble and had a tub/shower combo, which I always prefer. The rainfall shower head was a welcome addition, and I really liked the custom toiletries.

My favorite thing about the room was the bedside lamps that reminded me of traditional lava lamps, but they didn’t move. Clear bubbles appeared to hang inside the glass blocks that created a cool vibe in the room.  The floor to ceiling windows and the colorful wall behind the bed were other enjoyable features.

My Hard Rock hotel room had unique artwork, comfy and stylish chairs, a modern desk area, mini-fridge, flat-screen TV, marble bath, and an in-room coffee maker. How is that for everything you could possibly desire?

Restaurants and Great Food

I headed down to Sessions, the onsite restaurant and bar serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner to have a quick bite.

Sessions has a killer happy hour with reduced drink prices (on cocktails, beer, and wine) and $3, $6, and $9 priced appetizers. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. I chose a table facing the ocean while I enjoyed my Caesar Salad (made with yummy banana croutons) and Tater Tots (with a blue cheese fondue sauce, balsamic, and chives), both at happy hour prices. The service was impeccable and I left a happy customer.

The food at the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach restaurants is really delicious and affordable.

I had another pleasant experience at Sessions when I dined there for breakfast the next day. My Name-Your-Own-Omelet (bacon, Swiss, and mushrooms) was cooked just right and had plenty of gooey cheese. I opted for the Parmesan Hash on the side–a nice addition. The omelet comes with your choice of wheat, white, rye, or multigrain toast. Other breakfast dishes that appeared popular were the Pancakes, Eggs Benedicts (Classic and Crab Cake), and Avocado Toast.

In addition to Sessions, the Hard Rock Hotel also has an onsite coffee shop with grab-n-go sandwiches, salads, and other goodies. Don’t miss the huge cupcake on display that you can buy or order, that could feed ten people!

Room service is another dining option at the Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach. My daughter ordered twice and recommended the Asian Wings.

Pool and Beach

The Hard Rock Hotel’s swimming pool overlooks the ocean in a beautiful setting! Navy and white striped private cabanas added a special touch to the area. The pool alone is enough reason for me to drive up to Daytona Beach to spend a sunny weekend. It was a little upsetting that I was at the hotel for work and didn’t have time to enjoy this beautiful oceanfront setting.

Other Amenities

Get pampered at the hotel’s full-service salon or hit the gym in the state-of-the-art Body Rock Fitness Center. One amenity that I’d never seen before was the Sound of Your Stay music program, with complimentary in-room Fender guitars (yes, you read that right), and record players. Create your own music in the comfort and privacy of your hotel room.

For kids, the youth pool and Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club is the place they will want to be. Here they can play music and dance, or teens can have a hands-on music experience, watch TV, or participate in games, activities.

What to Do in the Daytona Beach Area

If you are looking for things to do outside of your hotel, Daytona Beach is drivable, meaning you can take your car onto the beach. It’s one of the only beaches in the country where you can do this.

Besides typical outdoor ocean activities, there are outstanding museums (Museum of Arts & Sciences and Cici and Hyatt Brown), the Cinematique Theatre, and Daytona International Speedway for both racing and tours. Across the street from the Speedway is One Daytona, a huge shopping, dining, entertainment, and hotel megaplex.

Families are essential in Daytona Beach, and there is plenty to do for all ages. Little ones will appreciate the beachside roller coaster, Screamer’s Park, arcades, and candy shops. Teens will enjoy the GameTime Family Entertainment Center, Zoom Air Adventure Park, Daytona Slingshot (100 mph), Go-Kart City, and Speed Park Motorsports.
