The Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa on Florida’s Atlantic Coast is not to be missed. Sitting beachfront on the shores of Martin County, this beautiful hotel with manicured grounds has amazing amenties and offers an elegant solace for those seeking it.
From the moment you pull your car into the valet parking area, you will be on your way to a relaxing beach vacation that will etch a special spot in your memory.
The Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa Hotel
The first thing that catches you eye as you enter Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa is a runner’s station positioned between the two sets of sliding glass doors. Guests can gear up with bottled water and sunscreen as they prepare the intense Florida heat or wipe their brow with a towel upon return. It was an impressive guest perk, to say the least.
Check in to one of Hutchinson Shores Resort’s 178 luxury appointed guestrooms with a friendly front desk clerk who will have you checked in lickity split.
Admire the living green wall with succulents as well as the ornate sand sculptures that were made just for this hotel. I really liked the second floor balcony that overlooked the attractive lobby and the variety of sitting areas. Hutchinson Shores is chock full of spaces for enjoying an intimate conversation, reading, or catching a nap.
The resort is split into two towers. Choose from a sunset, pool, or ocean view room, depending on your budget. For our stay, we were in the oceanfront tower that had impeccable balcony views of the Atlantic waves rolling below us and spectacular sunrises.
Inside, the room was standard size but that is where standard ended. Premium linens enveloped the bed with a sleeper sofa beside it. We immediately noticed that our room had a more-than-adequate amount of lighting and plugins. My husband, Eddie, and I appreciated the special touches like the faux-leather white ice bucket, the space above the closet (nook) for storage, and refrigerated drawer compartment for sodas and water. Hutchinson shores has a common area on each floor for bagged ice (no noise!) and fresh fruit or warm cookies depending on the time of day.
Kudos for the mixture of textures and fabrics (all within a navy and white theme) that really set the stage for a beach vacation vibe. The fabric headboards were my favorite!
Bathrooms always intrigue me on my hotel stays and the marble Hutchinson Shores one surely did not disappoint. It was so sleek and beautiful. I immediately added the navy scalloped shower tiles to my wish list for my our house and Eddie wanted the light-up mirror for his bathroom.
First and foremost, the resort is located on the beachfront, steps from the ocean’s shoreline. Jensen Beach’s white sandy beaches beckons to the hotel guests from their relaxing balconies. You will be inspired by the Atlantic Ocean’s picturesque landscape.
Inside the resort is a small, but mighty modern gym that even has premium cardio equipment. Yoga and other fitness classes are offered on the beach.
Resort activities might include shell collecting, sandcastle building contest, sea turtle scavenger hunt, live music, or corn-hole competition. Weekly activities guides are available upon check-in or at the front desk.
Two heated pools are onsite with a smaller one located in the midst of the towers (oceanfront in front of the main restaurant) and the bigger pool over to the side. The lights and water fountain actions of the pool were a stately touch and we enjoyed the “show” both morning and night. Poolside service is available for those wanting food and drinks from Reflections Pool Deck + Bar. Trust me, with food and drinks like these, you will want them both! I liked the selection of lounge chairs and loungers to choose from. A heated jacuzzi is also available.
A Luxurious Retreat
My favorite hotel amenity was the signature Spa. I recommend the Signature Massage which is an 80-minute treat for the senses. You can design the treatment as you wish (i.e. 30-minute deep-tissue massage, 30-minute facial, 20-minute foot scrub). Select your personalized Zents aroma imprint with choices such as Ore (clove, ylang-ylang, orris), Fresh (Linden, cucumber, lemon) or Mandarin (ginger, mandarin, cardamom) for your treatment.
Looking for a wedding venue or meeting space? Hutchinson Shores ups the game for these features and is in constant demand for them.
Breakfast and Lunch Options
I love it when a hotel offers a variety of restaurant selections and that is what you will find here. Breakfast and lunch can be ordered from Drift Kitchen + Bar but we preferred eating having our lunch on the oceanfront at the Dune Beach Bar. For dinner, take your palate on a vacation of its own as you sink your teeth into homemade pasta dishes or succulent seafood cuisine.
Amaretto French Toast is one of the most popular gourmet breakfast items and worth every calorie! Toasted almonds, sweet mascarpone, and bananas make this a super-indulgent plate.
The Crab Cake Benedict or Short Rib Hash are other dishes that will awaken your senses. The hash is packed with succulent rosemary braised beef, peppers and onions, and topped with sunny-side up eggs. It was sensational! Pair your breakfast with a freshly squeezed juice, mimosa, or espresso.
The Dune Beach Bar offers really tasty handheld Fish Tacos and brick-oven Margherita Pizzas. Enjoy your lunch beneath the palms with the sound of the ocean as your soundtrack. I loved the blue tiles and white furniture that really popped against the ocean backdrop. The beach-chic decorations sitting around the space really made it feel homey and welcoming. Try a hand-crafted cocktail such as the Blueberry & Mint Crush or the Sunset Lemonade. A variety of beer and wines are available throughout the resort properties as well.
A Delightful and Delicious Dinner
Start your dining experience at Drift Kitchen + Bar with the Tomato and Goat Cheese Brushetta or the creamy Burrata Caprese. The restaurant’s contemporary kitchen makes fresh pasta each day so that may sway what you are ordering.
I was totally prepared to order the Rigatoni Bolognese until the waiter persuaded me to try one of my favorite pastas, Bucatini Carbonara. Drift Kitchen + Bar uses the authentic recipe which includes mixing in an egg yolk at the end. Crispy Pancetta, Applewood smoked Bacon, peas, Cremini mushrooms and Pecorino Tuscano cream took this dish to another level. It will certainly make my “Top Eats of 2018” list! Save room for the Key Lime Brûlée.
An Impressive and Enjoyable Visit
Eddie and I were extremely pleased with our stay at the Hutchinson Shores Resort. We had no idea that a luxury hotel of that magnitude was so close to our home on Florida’s East Coast or that one paid that close of attention to detail. The service was impeccable!
Hutchinson Shores has done a great job of putting world-class luxury accommodations in an area that vacationers haven’t really discovered yet. I have a feeling that won’t last long. The intimate boutique hotel is filled with light and many nooks and crannies to get lost in— which makes you feel like you are in a much bigger resort. I hope you enjoy your visit every bit as much as we did.
