Inn on the Lakes: A Fabulous Sebring, Florida Find
Sebring, Florida is in the central part of the state, in the midst of thousands of acres of orange groves, cows, and a world-class race track. Perhaps the biggest treasure of all in Sebring is the Inn on the Lakes a 155-room boutique hotel that offers exquisite attention to detail, chic decor, and an amazing restaurant. I was bowled over from my stay! Check out what makes Inn on the Lakes special and why I recommend staying there.
A Fabulous Find
The Inn on the Lakes Hotel is centrally located in Florida. There are several lakes, golf courses, and plenty of shopping and dining options nearby. Inn on the Lakes is owned by a couple who has years of experience in the hotel business and run it very hands-on. Their expertise is noticeable in the warm, welcoming feel of the hotel lobby, friendliness of the staff, and attention to details.
Rooms at Inn on the Lakes
Nearly every room at Inn on the Lakes is different in some fashion. And speaking of fashion, the rooms are chic and stylish, with unique fabrics for the bedding and bolster pillow, and a picture-perfect bed. My tower suite was spacious with a sitting area including two chairs, a settee, and coffee table with interesting books. Fabric shades made it possible to darken the room, but the view of Little Lake Jackson outside of my window was so beautiful the thought never crossed my mind.
A desk area afforded me the opportunity to work late into the nights during my stay. The kitchen appliances gave me the ability to reheat leftovers, keep my beverages cold, and get my caffeine fix in the mornings.
My Inn on the Lakes bathroom had a half-wall glass as the shower enclosure and attractive tile work. The bathroom toiletries smelled heavenly. There was plenty of light, space for my make-up and hair products, and an abundance of towels, too.
Special touches that I liked about my room were the small vase of hand-cut flowers placed by my bed, a hotel cat book on the end table, and a gorgeous glass bedside lamp that was unlike any hotel lamp I’ve ever seen. There is a family cat that you may see on the premises in the hotel office; the hotel owners are fond of animals.
When I needed something, the Inn on the Lakes’ staff was always quick to serve and pleased to do so.
The staff is always friendly at Chicane’s, the onsite restaurant. I liked that they were suggestive and helped me choose the menu options I was debating. There was a certain sense of work pride in the staff that was noticeable.
Inn on the Lake’s Flowers
I’m a sucker for fresh flowers, especially when there are dozens of varieties and in a plethora of colors. In an area past the pool is where the Inn on the Lakes gardeners work their magic. Besides the pots of gorgeous blooms overflowing around the pool and restaurant patio, the vibrant displays are carried throughout the hotel and in the rooms. I also found spectacular flowers around the property, often hidden in hard-to-spot places.
“Included” with Your Stay
Inn on the Lakes has a casual feel, but offers high-end hotel special features at affordable prices. Besides free parking and Wifi, there are also three different breakfast options to choose for breakfast. A lakefront swimming pool with quaint seating arrangements and lounges was a spectacular place to get lost in the tropical feel from all of the colorful blooms and mature trees.
Chicane’s serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, plus it has a separate bar area for having cocktails. The dining room has a professional waiters/waitresses and a fine-dining feel, but is truly relaxed and comfortable. The chef delivers picture-perfect plates that are often too pretty to eat.
For breakfast, the fluffy scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon (or sausage) and toast were perfect to satisfy my hunger. Breakfast also came with coffee, tea, or soda, and juice, too.
Lunch options ranged from burgers to salads, pork schnitzel to shrimp cocktail. My pick was the blackened Chicken Sandwich with key lime mustard. You can choose regular or sweet potato fries as a side. The sandwich was really good with plenty of flavor and well-worth its price.
Dinnertime is special at Chicane’s as the restaurant serves high-end food presented with amazing flair. Start your dining experience with the rich French Onion Soup or Rollovers. These are Chicane’s delicious signature filet mignon, pepper jack cheese, bacon-wrapped delights with a trio of dipping sauces. For your main course, I recommend the Angus steaks with sautéed mushrooms or pan fried Grouper with a lemon compote butter. Yum! Save room for a sweet serving of Bananas Foster.
A Great Hotel to Indulge In
