Mississippi’s Brandon Amphitheater: All You Need To Know
The Brandon Amphitheater is Mississippi’s newest outdoor music venue. Situated in the heart of Brandon, the Amphitheater aims to bring in people from not only Mississippi, but Louisiana, Alabama, and Tennessee, too.
My husband and I have lived in Brandon, Mississippi for two and a half years. As avid concert goers, we were thrilled to find out that Brandon was getting an Amphitheater–and that it was booking huge acts! After attending four concerts at the Brandon Amphitheater, we have learned some tips and tricks to help you make the most of your visit and get the most bang for your buck.
Here is all you need to know about the new Brandon Amphitheater.
About The Brandon Amphitheater
The Brandon Amphitheater is a family-friendly music venue in Brandon, Mississippi, a suburb of Jackson. Owned by the City of Brandon, the Amphitheater holds 7000 to 8300 people.
Brandon is currently building a 250-acre park, called “The Quarry”. When finished, it will have a baseball facility, dog park, and running/biking/nature trails. The Brandon Amphitheater will be the center piece of The Quarry.
The Brandon Amphitheater is accessible from Exit 54 and 56 on I-20.
Tickets

Seating at the Brandon Amphitheater is divided into lower and upper levels. Tickets are more expensive the closer to the stage you sit; but note that lower level seats are just fold out chairs.
Tickets are available on Ticketmaster or at the Brandon Amphitheater Box Office. The Box Office is open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM and on concert days.
I recommend sitting in the upper level because the tickets are cheaper and the seats are nicer. Also, since there are 28 to 47 seats in each row, I would try to buy aisle seats so you don’t have to climb over people when you need to go to the bathroom or visit the concession stand.
Note: The general admission area is directly in front of the lower level. Your “front row” seat will be a front row to the back of the standing area.
Tip: The smoking section is beside of section 201. Since you are outside, the smoke can waft into your section. If this is an issue, choose another section.
Pro Tip: If you like an artist, sign up for the Fan Club. You will be able to purchase concert tickets before they go on sale to the public.

Parking
There are parking lots on both side of the Brandon Amphitheater, either from Exit 54 or 56.
The parking lot directly outside of the Amphitheater (Box Office Lot) is open to ADA parking. All you need is a state issued handicap tag or ADA hang tag.
Note: Parking in the Box Office Lot lot is first come first serve. Once it’s full you will have to park elsewhere.
Note: The Box Office Lot is the only truly paved lot.

Food And Drinks
The Brandon Amphitheater has concession stands on both sides of the stage. Hot Dogs, French Fries, Chicken Tenders, and Soda are all available for purchase.
Although the Amphitheater serves food, I would eat before the concert. It is pretty generic and really overpriced.
The Amphitheater serves beer, frozen drinks, wine, and cocktails. Beer choices are Miller Lite, Coors Light, Blue Moon, and Modelo.
Note: A bottle of water is $4. Mississippi is incredibly hot during the summer so be sure to budget accordingly.
Where To Stay
Brandon has a Red Roof Inn, Americas Best Value Inn, and La Quinta Inn near the Amphitheater. If you are looking for more upscale accommodations, I recommend staying in the Flowood, Pearl, or Ridgeland areas.

My Thoughts
Since opening in April of 2018, my husband and I have been to four concerts at the Brandon Amphitheater: Hank Williams Jr., Chris Stapleton, Imagine Dragons, and Jason Aldean.
We go to concerts all over the country and although it’s nice to see a concert close to home, the Brandon Amphitheater is nothing to write home about.
I am not sure who employs the staff, but almost all of the ones that we have encountered have been rude. You’re working a concert–smile and be friendly! At Chris Stapleton, one of the men scanning tickets was too busy talking to his friend to do his job. He didn’t scan my friend’s ticket or the woman walking in behind her. I guess they could have saved their $90.
The parking situation is laughable. We come in from Exit 56 on I-20, and just pull up on a curb and park, past Lot F. Then, you have to take a gravel path through the woods to get to the Amphitheater–you are not allowed to walk along the pavement. Be sure to wear walking shoes! On the way out, there is no one directing traffic–you just drive through all of the people walking to their cars. We have only parked from Exit 56, so I am not sure what parking from Exit 54 is like.
I was really excited to check out at the food at the Brandon Amphitheater. When Outback is a sponsor you think the food would be good. Wrong! On our first visit, we ended up paying more than $30 for chicken tenders, french fries, a hot dog, and drinks, all of which I am pretty sure came from Sam’s Club.

See A Show At The Brandon Amphitheater
After booking such big artists this summer (Chris Young, Brantley Gilbert, Hank Williams Jr., Dave Matthews Band, Chris Stapleton, Alan Jackson, Imagine Dragons, Jason Aldean, Alabama, and the Beach Boys), I am anxious to see what bands the Brandon Amphitheater will have next. Hopefully, another spectacular lineup is in the works for 2019!
