Pointe Orlando’s Adobe Gila’s Margarita Fajita Cantina
Why We Went: My daughters and I some time to kill in Orlando, so I took them to Pointe Orlando’s awesome dining and shopping complex. If you have not been to this complex, you should definitely stop by, it is nice! We parked our car and wandered through the sprawling complex. I really had my heart set on dining at Fat Fish Blue, but they did not open until 5PM so Mexican food at Adobe Gila’s Margarita Fajita Cantina won out.
What We Had: Char-Grilled Chicken Fajitas, Boneless Buffalo Wings, and a Chicken Quesadilla.
Something Special: The Queso Fundido Dip (spicy cheese) was really tasty. Although it was different than most Mexican restaurants, we all enjoyed it and there was plenty of it. It was served in an edible fried tortilla bowl which made for a pretty presentation but tasted awesome after the cheese had been soaking into it.
Noteworthy: We had really great service at Adobe Gila’s. My daughter loved the spicy buffalo wings and also remarked on the ranch dressing being very good. She orders wings everywhere we go so they must have been high up there for her to enjoy them so much.
Best Part of the Meal: I thought the fajita’s chicken/onion/pepper and spices mix was nicely flavored and cooked just right. Though this restaurant is definitely not the best Mexican food, and this is American Mexican at that, it was enjoyable and priced right.
Bonus: Adobe Gila’s margaritas by the pitcher are heavily discounted.
What Needs Improvement: It was a bit too chilly to sit outside though that is what we would have preferred. The views and location are spot on. Our window table inside Adobe Gila’s was near the bar and there was a foul stagnant beer smell all around.
Total Check Before Tip: $41.45
