Epic Reasons for Cruising with Princess Cruise Lines
Cruising with Princess Cruise Lines is an epic adventure with a staff that aims to please and tried & true itineraries that will give you the most bang for your buck as you explore new ports of call and see the world. High Seas cruising is my favorite vacation style.
I love that the price of a cruise includes your hotel at sea, meals, entertainment, ports of call, and most things in between. Your stateroom is tended to and refreshed throughout the day and anything and everything you should want to eat is at your fingertips.
Several activities are available all day long on the boat should you want to participate or you can always opt to do nothing. Cozy sitting areas or padded pool lounges are waiting for you to relax and unwind. Like-minded travelers are onboard to chat with and share your vacation memories.
Do not worry; a doctor is onboard should you need one. Here are more reasons you should give cruising a try.
Princess Cruise Lines Food
Dining on the ship will require you to make some choices as there are many options, and they get more plentiful as the number of guests onboard increase. International Cafe is the specialty coffee bar, with some food, and is usually located near guest services and in an area where demonstrations and concerts take place. Be sure to try one of the International Cafe’s complimentary upscale desserts, sandwiches, or salads.
The pool restaurant features veggie burgers, fries, hotdogs, and burgers at the Trident Grill outside and other items prepared to order. For dining, there are a few main dining rooms, including the Coral, Davinci, and Botticelli, but these names vary ship to ship. Your dining time will be 6 PM or 8:30 PM or you may choose anytime dining, which allows you to eat whenever you would like.
All Princess Cruise Line boats have a 24-hour pizzeria and ice cream bar, and let us not forget the complimentary room service. Princess generally offers a couple of outstanding restaurants such as Sabatini’s, Crown Grill, and Sterling Steakhouse, which charge a nominal fee to dine there. The cost is around $25 per person, and reservations should be made as early as you can as they fill up quickly. Come hungry because the food seems never-ending and is not only delectable but superbly presented.
Some cruise ships also offer Ultimate Balcony Dining and Captain’s Table, both for an up-charge.
Activities on the Boat
Children under 17 are invited to participate in the Youth Centers and Teen Lounges. Princess Cruises Lines experienced counselors and staff lead these offerings which include pizza parties, video games, movies, art classes, and more. Parents sign their children up for the services at the beginning of the cruise. Keep in mind that at a certain age, kids are free to check themselves out of the daily activities.
While the kids are away, the adults can head over to the casino, complete with slots, roulette, blackjack, video poker, let it ride, craps, and poker. There is typically a poker tournament, which will be detailed in the Princess Patter.
Cruising with Princess Cruise Lines, there is never a dull moment.
Cruise ships offer shore excursions to safely entertain and educate you while at your destination ports: activities vary in price and activity level. The cruise line works with reputable companies that have strict guidelines and high standards, so they are generally excellent. Also, in the event an excursion runs over in time or is delayed for any reason, the captain will hold the boat. If the passengers run late and the tour company is not affiliated with the ship, it will not wait.
My dream is to go on the 111-day Pacific Princess World Cruise, which covers 25 countries on six continents. What a way to work your way through your travel bucket list!
Onboard Cruise Extras
You will not want to miss my favorite Princess Cruise Lines offering, a proper British tea, served every afternoon with silver tea service and white-gloved servers. Waiters pass cakes, sandwiches, and scones with cream and jam while musicians play in the background. This free activity is mentioned in the newsletter, but I have never seen a crowd at it. Spread the word; it is the ship’s best-kept secret.
I hope you will enjoy Princess Cruise Lines as much as my family and I do!
