Nostalgic Dining at Hollywood Studio’s 50’s Prime Time Cafe
My friend, Lynne, and I were spending the day at Walt Disney World.
We wanted a sit-down lunch while visiting the park, and chose to dine at the Hollywood Studio’s 50’s Prime Time Cafe. It is one of the most popular restaurants at that particular park, plus she and I loved the nostalgic factor.
Check out these tasty comfort food dishes that we enjoyed.
About Disney’s 50’s Prime Time Cafe
Hollywood Studio’s 50’s Prime Time Cafe will immediately transport you into a 1950 family home complete with all the furnishings, dishes, and even “mom”. All of the decors are throw-back retro and there are plenty of neat things to see. Old televisions continually show black and white programs, making for a great special touch.
The 50’s Prime Time menu is chock full of comfort foods. If you clean your plate (eat everything on it), you will get a “Clean Plate Club” sticker to commemorate your achievement.
Enthusiastic wait staff participates in friendly banter but reprimands you for having elbows on the table, not eating your vegetables, and things of that nature. It is all in good fun, but be prepared for this.
What Did We Eat?
For lunch, I selected Dad’s Stuffed Pork Chop, filled with cranberries, apples, herbs, and Gouda cheese. My Pork Chop came with roasted potatoes and carrots. My pork chop was moist and delicious. The vegetables were flavorful, although I wish they would have a little more done.
Lynne strayed from her usual meal of the Old-Fashioned Pot Roast and chose Grandma’s Chicken Pot Pie, baked with a flaky top crust. She was happy with her choice.
Decadent Milk Shakes
50’s Prime Time Cafe is famous for milk shakes. Choose from Peanut Butter and Jelly, Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry. Shakes come with a silver shaker containing any extra milk shake the glass would not hold. Treat yourself to one!
Lynne and I were thrilled with our comfort food dishes and will be back again.
