Nostalgic Dining at 50’s Prime Time Cafe
My friend, Lynne, and I were spending the day at the Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios theme park.
We wanted a sit-down lunch and chose to dine at the 50’s Prime Time Cafe. It is one of the most popular restaurants in the park and we loved the nostalgic factor.
We were thrilled with our comfort food dishes and will definitely be back again.
About 50’s Prime Time Cafe
The 50’s Prime Time Cafe will immediately transport you into a 1950’s family home complete with all the furnishings, dishes, and even “mom”. All of the decors are retro and there are plenty of neat things to see. I loved that the vintage televisions continually showing black and white programs.
The 50’s Prime Time menu is chock full of comfort foods. If you eat everything on your plate, you will get a “Clean Plate Club” sticker to commemorate your achievement.
The wait staff participates in friendly banter but reprimands you for having elbows on the table, not eating your vegetables, and things of that nature. It is all in good fun, but be prepared for this.
What Did We Eat?
For lunch, I selected Dad’s Stuffed Pork Chop, filled with cranberries, apples, herbs, and Gouda cheese. My Pork Chop was served with roasted potatoes and carrots. My pork chop was moist and delicious. The vegetables were flavorful, although I wish they would have been cooked a little longer.
Lynne strayed from her usual meal of the Old-Fashioned Pot Roast and chose Grandma’s Chicken Pot Pie, baked with a flaky top crust. She was happy with her choice.
The Milk Shakes
50’s Prime Time Cafe is famous for milk shakes. Choose from Peanut Butter and Jelly, Chocolate, Vanilla, or Strawberry. Shakes come with a silver shaker containing any extra milk shake the glass would not hold. Treat yourself to one!
