One of the nicest dinners we had in St. Augustine was at Amici Italian Restaurant. My daughters, Blake, and I arrived at Amici and were seated in Cody’s section. The decor was a little dated, but it was comfortable and clean. We were greeted by our waiter and given a basket of bread with roasted garlic cloves and butter. Amici’s menu had beautiful font, but with the dim lights and my middle aged eyes, it was a bit hard to read. I had a hard time deciding what to order since they had lots of classic Italian offerings.
Our meal began with crisp House Salads and Minestrone Soup. I chose the house dressing, a creamy Italian, which was superb. The Minestrone was good as well.
The dinner entrées we chose were an adventurous Cheese Pizza, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, Veal Parmigiana, and Cheese Tortellini with basil cream sauce. My daughter Taylor said the pizza was “delicious” and Blake’s veal was succulent with a crust that melted in your mouth. My tortellini was perfectly cooked and the flavorful basil sauce was a great accompaniment. I enjoyed a taste of the fettuccine alfredo and it was right up there with the best I have ever had.
Being a foodie, I was very pleased with everything we choose at Amici Italian. Our server was entertaining, friendly, and our overall experience was an excellent one. The restaurant exceeded our expectations and we all left full and satisfied.
FYI- Amici Italian had a beautiful dessert tray but we were too full to partake in any. Most of the fellow patrons were not and had delicious plates in front of them.
My Rating Scale: 1 (low) to 10 (high) = 8 1/2
Amici offered me a discount for dining but all reviews and opinions are my own and are not biased.
