Canada’s Le Cellier Steakhouse At Walt Disney World’s Epcot
Le Cellier Steakhouse is one of the more upscale restaurants at Walt Disney World’s Epcot, in the Canada Pavillion. When visiting Disney parks, I like to have a sit-down lunch to the a break from the crowds and unwind. On this visit, my friend, Lynne, and I chose to have Canadian food.
Decor
Lynne and I arrived at Le Cellier Steakhouse and were seated in their lovely and intimate dining room. The restaurant is designed to make you feel like you are in a wine cellar and proudly displays nice vintage bottles of wine throughout.

Our Meal
I promptly ordered the Canadian Cheddar cheese soup, my whole reason for choosing this restaurant. Our server brought delicious pretzel breadsticks and rolls to our table along with a decent portion of the creamy soup. Canadian Cheese Soup is made with Moosehead beer. It was very tasty but pungent, which I was not prepared for. The cheese soup also had a few crunchy bits that I am assuming were bacon and celery.
For our main course, Lynne chose the Baby Beets and Poached Pear salad, dotted with feta cheese and pistachios. She loved it! Staying with the Canadian theme, I opted for the Pulled Barbecued Pork Poutine, with cornbread croutons and Japanese aioli. Poutine is nothing more than dressed up French fries, topped with fresh cheese curds and gravy. I did not see either of those things on this particular poutine, but it was enjoyable.
Though we did not have room for desserts, the most popular one on the menu is the Smoking Chocolate Mousse, a chocolate lovers dream with Grand Marnier, almond crunch, cinnamon marshmallow, and dark chocolate.
My Thoughts
All in all, I enjoyed dining here in Canada, but there was not much going on in the dining room. I did not find the atmosphere as “special” as some Disney restaurants. The steaks being delivered to nearby tables looked delicious but I cannot see how those people were able to do anything afterwards other than nap.
My Rating Scale: 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest)= 7 1/2

Wonderful! I will get right to it! Loved reading your page and learning about all your travels. What fun! Thank you so much and I will pay it forward.
Love the cheese soup there. We bought one of the Disney cookbooks and made it at home on a cold dark November day. Gorgeous.
I don’t find that any of the park restaurants are as nice as the resort restaurants, possibly because of the impression they give that they want you in and out asap. The exception is the Blue Bayou in disneyland.
Blue Bayou huh? I’m headed to Disneyland in 3 weeks so perhaps we will dine there.;) Any other Disneyland pointers you might share? I’ve only been there once and it was 10 years ago.
Sorry if this is a]too late
I enjoyed the Blue Bayou because of the atmosphere from being inside the Pirates of the Carribean ride (like San Angel only better)
Re Tips- Both parks have a joint security point. I can’t remember whether that has always been the case but it means that if one of the parks has an early opening it is difficult to be cunning and go for the other one as it is bottle necked.
The other thing is when it comes to parades and fireworks, they cordon off into sections/ pens and you can’t move. When the pen is full they keep the crowds away and at the end you are directed in particular directions. This again makes it hard to be cunning and rush off to the quietest areas. The places near the castle had filled an hour before for the fireworks. Last time I was in WDW they didn’t do this.
It is possible to get a package for the World of Color show. We didn’t do it and we were lucky that we managed to get a spot where we could see although not a brilliant spot. If this is something you really want to see properly then a dinner package might be the way forward as the lake in California Adventure is a lot more awkward than Epcot especially as there has been lots of developments in the last year.
The cars fastpass queue was over 30 mins (by that I mean the queue to get the fastpass return later). If you really want to do this ride you probably want to get there at rope drop or just accept that you have to queue. We didn’t see any reduction of queue here even when the rockin rollercoaster was only 10 mins queue.
Indiana Jones is still an awesome ride as is Mr Toad’s wild ride. The Tower of Terror has been updated quite a bit since you last visited. I missed the Mickey in the middle of the rockin rollercoaster though. Toy Story didn’t seem to have the same level of queue as in WDW
My favourite park continues to be California Adventure and although we are going to HK Disney in May, I doubt CA will be toppled.
