Mustard’s Last Stand: Best Hotdogs Ever
It seems that 1987 was not only a good year because I graduated high school, but also because Mustard’s Last Stand opened in Melbourne, Florida.
With Chicago style dogs, clever and tasty combinations, and killer fries, it is no wonder this restaurant has been around all these years.
Taste Florida’s Best Hot Dogs!
I first discovered Mustard’s Last Stand when my friend Ronda invited me. She told me it was a place we could take our dogs and sit outside to enjoy on their covered patio. We have not taken the pooches yet, but once I had my first bite, I was hooked.
Mustard’s is a small restaurant situated in the historic district of downtown Melbourne, Florida with a funky vibe, decorated in a wide variety of license plates and signed memorabilia from celebrities and rock stars. You order at the counter and they deliver your food once it is ready. Drinks are self-serve and they have an extensive beer selection.
Fries—a Must Have Offering!
The selection of French Fries at Mustard’s Last Stand is huge! You’ll be salivating as you read the tasty ingredient combinations. My favorites are Island Fries, topped with melted cheddar cheese, 1000-Island dressing, and sweet grilled onions.
Another delicious choice is Firecracker Fries, with Cheddar cheese, sriracha, and plenty of fresh garlic. Your breath isn’t going to be too fresh after eating them, but they are tasty. Fries come in both whole and half orders.
Decadent and Delicious Dogs!
All of Mustard’s Last Stand hotdogs are kosher, whole beef, and come served on a fantastic poppy seed bun. Generally, I only enjoy a bite or two of bread, but in this case, the bun is so delicious, it is nearly the star of the whole hot dog show.
The list of toppings for your hotdog to be decked out with will intrigue you. My go-to dogs are the Reuben Dog (sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and 1000 Island dressing) and the Joe Dogmaggio (marinara, Swiss cheese, bacon, and Parmesan). Yes, you heard right, two crispy strips of bacon lying right on top of the marinara and holding the cheese in place. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Mustard’s Last Stand will substitute veggie or turkey dogs at no additional charge.
Other tasty dishes include chicken, sausages, and other sandwich choices as well as Fish & Chips and seafood items. One of my daughters tried the Mozzarella Sticks, which were cooked to perfection, dusted with Parmesan cheese, and served a side of tangy marinara.
A Worth Your While Visit
Mustard’s Last Stand must be good because I drive almost an hour each way to eat there. I feel sure that if hotdogs and fries are your ccravings you will be bowled over by how delicious they are!
On Mondays, Mustard’s offers military discounts of 20% when you show your military ID for dine-in only guests. Bonus, they have a drive-through option!
My Rating Scale: 1 (low) to 10 (high) = 9
