Vero Beach, Florida’s Ocean Grill has been wowing guests for years. This classic steakhouse style restaurant offers guests both casual and sophisticated meals. Since the Ocean Grill sits on the oceanfront, the views are impeccable. It also has its own parking lot, which can save time during the seasonal months.
Ocean Grill of Vero Beach: One of our Best
Dining at the Ocean Grill at lunchtime offers significantly cheaper prices, though the menu is more limited than the plentiful dinner options. I met my friend Betsi, a blogger from Fort Pierce there to catch up over a tasty lunch. We were seated in one of the tastefully decorated rooms that had a partial ocean view. Our server, Brenda, presented us with drinks and informed us of the daily Chef’s Special entrées.
Ocean Grill’s menu ranges from salads and soups to locally caught fish (Pompano, Grouper, Salmon, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo), and freshly grilled meats. One of the most sought-after times of the year to dine there is Stone Crab Claw season, which runs October 15th through May 15th.
Betsi and I started our lunch experience with bowls of Tomato Bisque. I found the taste to be okay, but not spectacular. It could have used a garnish or drizzle of oil, perhaps.
Lucking Into One of My Favorites
I am a sucker for a good quiche and the one that Brenda described to us sounded perfect: Classic Quiche Lorraine. Betsi chose the Fish of the Day. While we were waiting for our lunch entrées, Brenda brought us some fresh, warm bread and butter. It was heavenly! I must add that during dinner hours, Ocean Grill’s mouth-watering blue cheese spread comes complimentary with your crackers and bread.
Beautiful Plating and Delivery
Both of our meals arrived and we were pleased with the presentation. Then, being bloggers, we proceeded to a dozen of pictures of each plate. My Quiche Lorraine had a buttery, flaky crust with a layer of cheese on the bottom. It was light, incredibly fluffy, and super flavorful. The quiche was paired with a mixed green salad with house-made Roquefort Blue Cheese dressing. The Ocean Grill gets two thumbs up for that delicious salad dressing! The quiche was the best I have ever tasted in Vero Beach.
Betsi thought that her American Red Snapper was spectacular and was extremely pleased with her meal. The snapper was a buttery parmesan panko crusted and served with béarnaise sauce and a side salad. How can anything go wrong with a properly made béarnaise sauce?
A Really Appealing Restaurant
The Ocean Grill of Vero Beach is beautifully decorated with heavy, dark woods and most interesting fixtures. The bar provides a nice spot for sipping specialty cocktails or large glasses of wine while enjoying the swells of the ocean. The restaurant’s lobby hosts a plethora of decorations to admire while an appealing gift shop is available for browsing before or after your meal. Every time I come to Ocean Grill I buy something from the gift shop. They have a particularly alluring selection of Vero Beach t-shirts and apparel.
Whether you are craving a stellar Maine Lobster Roll or a savory Cajun Ribeye, the Ocean Grill will delight every palate for both lunch and dinner. It is nice having such a consistently good restaurant option to take visiting friends or share special occasions. Lunch is served from 11:30-2:30 PM Monday through Saturday and dinner every night 5-10 PM. The bar food menu is only available between the restaurant’s lunch and dinner times.
