The Wicked Tuna strives to bring fresh ingredients to guests through creative eats. Their menu is quite impressive and includes seafood, steaks, sushi, and sandwiches. The views of Murrells Inlet from The Wicked Tuna are breathtaking. In business since 2013, it is easy to see why this South Carolina restaurant is so popular.
The Wicked Tuna is located on the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk. You do not get much more waterfront than that! The patio is beautiful and provides stellar views of the water. The Wicked Tuna also has a full bar out on the patio and TVs hang around it. This would be the perfect spot to watch sporting events with friends. In fact, they have a separate menu for when NFL games are going on that includes both food and beer specials.
The Wicked Tuna serves fresh seafood. They have adapted a “Hook to Plate” policy; all of their fish comes directly from the fishing hook to your plate. What a great way to showcase local, fresh seafood!
The Wicked Tuna’s decor is absolutely beautiful. It is beachy in theme yet both elegant and rustic. Oyster shells strung together make light fixtures that hang throughout the restaurant. What a cool idea! Some chairs in the restaurant have a nice striped upholstery on them, which I loved. All in all, you definitely feel like you are at the beach here.
My husband, Blake, and I had the opportunity to eat at The Wicked Tuna while in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a press trip. For starters, Blake and I had Crab Wontons (lump crab meat, cream cheese, and scallions fried in a wonton shell over sweet chili sauce). We are huge wonton fans and these were excellent. The crab inside of the wonton was plentiful and the chili sauce really hit the spot.
Blake opted for the Lobster Roll (tempura lobster tail, lobster salad, cucumber, avocado, leaf lettuce, and a sweet glaze). He loved every bite of it and enjoyed getting to use chopsticks. I had the Rock Shrimp (fried shrimp tossed in spicy mayo), a Wicked Tuna favorite. The mayo was just spicy enough. My shrimp were great!
The Tuna Shack is a second restaurant located on property. This open air tiki features live music every night. It, too, is on the Murrells Inlet Marsh Walk. The Tuna Shack is a little more laid back and serves more casual eats than the main restaurant.
The Wicked Tuna has more than just great food to offer guests. They host Trivia Night on Tuesday and Sushi Night on Thursdays, have an app available for download, a VIP Club full of special offers (including a $10 gift card just for singing up), and are available for private events. Check The Wicked Tuna’s website for a list of all events.
