Top Attractions in Jacksonville You Can’t Miss
If you’re searching for the top attractions in Jacksonville you can’t miss, you’re in the right place. Jacksonville—Florida’s largest city by landmass—offers an incredible mix of beaches, outdoor adventures, museums, historic neighborhoods, live entertainment, sports, and unforgettable food.
Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway, family vacation, or simply exploring your own backyard, these top Jacksonville attractions showcase the very best of the River City.

Alhambra Theatre & Dining
Kick off your Jacksonville adventure with dinner and a show at the famous Alhambra Theatre & Dining, one of the oldest continually operating dinner theaters in the country.
Enjoy Broadway-style performances paired with a chef-inspired three-course meal—perfect for date night or a special celebration. This season’s performances include Saturday Night Fever, Shrek, and Meet Me In St. Louis, to name a few.

Friendship Fountain
Located along the Southbank Riverwalk, Friendship Fountain is one of Jacksonville’s most iconic landmarks. The fountain’s colorful nighttime displays (dancing waters to music) make it a must-stop for photos or a peaceful waterfront stroll.
Please note, there is security during the evening hours and often live musicians. It is a huge gathering hub for Jacksonville locals.

RiversEdge: Life on the St. Johns
Jacksonville’s exciting new waterfront development, RiversEdge, is quickly becoming a hotspot for recreation, culture, and dining. Stroll the riverwalk, take in skyline views, and enjoy rooftop drinks as you soak in the modern side of Jax.
My favorite part are the cool swings that make perfect Instagram pics.

St. Johns Town Center
For shopping, dining, and people-watching, the St. Johns Town Center is Jacksonville’s premier open-air lifestyle destination. With everything from luxury boutiques to popular national brands, it’s easy to spend a full day here.
Popular stores include Apple, LEGO, Barnes & Noble, and Bluemercury. Fan favorite places to grab a bite are Tommy Bahama Marlin Bar and The Cheesecake Factory, while I would never turn down Paris Baguette and Shake Shack (did you know they have a pup cup?).

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens
A favorite for families, couples, and animal enthusiasts, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens remains one of the top-rated zoos in the Southeast. One of the newest exhibits are the manatees, while the holiday Night of Lights Zoo Experience is maybe the best in the country.

Don’t miss the award-winning Range of the Jaguar exhibit, plus the new manatees, and the scenic train ride through the grounds.

Atlantic Beach
Just a short drive east, Atlantic Beach offers wide sandy shores, gentle waves, and a relaxed coastal vibe. Stop by the Beaches Town Center to enjoy local eateries, charming shops, and a perfect mix of beach life and boutique culture.
My top three things there are the festive Christmas surfboards, Shorelines (amazing beach souvenirs and apparel for affordable prices), and BookMark, a wonderful independent book shop.

Florida Theatre
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Florida Theatre is a stunning 1927 movie palace turned performing arts venue. Catch a concert, comedy show, or classic film while admiring the opulent Mediterranean Revival architecture.
There are truly multiple performances here weekly and a cram packed schedule. This treasure trove doesn’t get enough recognition for the amazing opportunities it presents.

Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve
Experience untouched Florida at the Timucuan Preserve, a sprawling natural and historical treasure. Explore hiking trails, salt marshes, wildlife viewing areas, and historic sites like Kingsley Plantation.
It’s one of the most underrated outdoor gems in the state.

Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens
Art lovers will adore the Cummer Museum, home to an outstanding collection of works spanning centuries. Stroll through the stunning historic gardens overlooking the St. Johns River—one of the city’s most peaceful and Instagrammable spots.

There is a special space for kids at the gallery, and tons of special events and free admission days/nights. You can even grab a bite at the onsite restaurant, The Cummer Café.

Catch Football at EverBank Stadium
No Jacksonville bucket list is complete without a stop at EverBank Stadium. Cheer on the Jacksonville Jaguars or attend one of the many major events hosted throughout the year—just be ready for some bold teal spirit!
EverBank Stadium is expected to officially reopen in August 2028 after undergoing a jaw-dropping $1.4 billion “Stadium of the Future” transformation. Regardless, there will still be 8 home games played in Jacksonville on weeks 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 12, 14, and 17.
Duuval…let me here you say it!

Jacksonville Arboretum & Botanical Gardens
The Jacksonville Arboretum is a nature lover’s retreat, offering shaded walking trails, lakeside views, and diverse Florida ecosystems. It’s a perfect spot for morning hikes, photography, or simply reconnecting with the outdoors.
There is a small admission fee ($3), but parking is free and pets are welcome.

Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp Baseball
Spend an evening cheering on the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at VyStar Ballpark, one of the most fun outings in the city. The Triple-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins offers an exciting baseball experience with affordable tickets, family-friendly promotions, great ballpark food, fireworks on select nights, and one of the best views of the downtown Jacksonville skyline.

Jacksonville Beach Pier
End your adventure with an iconic walk along the Jacksonville Beach Pier. With gorgeous views of the Atlantic Ocean, dolphin sightings, fishing opportunities, and sunrise magic, it’s one of the best spots to experience Jacksonville’s coastal beauty.
A day pass for a local will cost you $1.50 and $2.50 for non-locals ($4.50/$5.50 for fishing, license not required).

Museum of Science & History (MOSH)
Located along the river, MOSH is ideal for families and curious travelers. Explore hands-on science exhibits, the planetarium, and local history galleries showcasing Northeast Florida’s unique story.
Unfortunately, this museum is closed until 2028 for a primo glow-up that is going to be amazing. The new $100 million facility will be on the Downtown Northbank.
Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) Jacksonville
Step into Jacksonville’s thriving modern art scene at MOCA, located downtown near the historic Hemming Park. Rotating exhibitions showcase bold, thought-provoking works that highlight emerging and established contemporary artists. Grab a coffee from Setlan Coffee Co. in the lobby.

If you’re looking for a new part of Jacksonville to explore, I recommend Murray Hill for the coffee/pastry shop, Dreamette ice cream joint, and awesome murals.
