Walt Disney World’s ‘Ohana Character Breakfast
On a recent trip to Walt Disney World, my friends (Rachael and Hannah) and I opted to start one of our days with the ‘Ohana Character Breakfast. Although they had dined at ‘Ohana before, it was my first time. I had a really good experience and cannot wait to go back with my husband (and eat more spicy potatoes)!
The ‘Ohana Character Breakfast takes place at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Delight in an “American breakfast influenced by Polynesian flavors“. The food is all-you-care-to-enjoy and includes Hua Paka (scrambled eggs), Uala Kahiki (fried potatoes), Mickey Shaped Waffles, Seasonal Fruit, Pua’a (pork: sausage and ham topped with Pineapple Compote), and Fresh Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread. Beverages (coffee, POG juice, soft drinks, and soda) are included. The cost of the ‘Ohana Character Breakfast is $34 per person. There is 10% discount for Annual Passholders.
The restaurant’s theming is incredibly well done. There is an overarching island/Polynesian feel and the decor plays very well into it. Cast members are called “cousins” because everyone at ‘Ohana is family.
The ‘Ohana Character Breakfast takes place from 7:30 AM to 12 PM.
As with most Walt Disney World sit down restaurants, you can make your reservation at ‘Ohana 180 days in advance.
While you are enjoying breakfast, Mickey Mouse, Lilo, and Stitch come by your table to take pictures with you. This is the only place at Walt Disney World where you can meet Lilo and see Mickey in this special outfit (Hawaiian shirt and lei). When you have finished your meal, head to the front of the restaurant to take a picture with Pluto.
Note: Disney PhotoPass photographers do not come around to your table. You have to take your own pictures with Mickey, Lilo, and Stitch.

Our Breakfast At ‘Ohana
Hannah, Rachael, and I arrived at the Polynesian Resort and checked in at the host stand for our ‘Ohana Character Breakfast. More than an hour later, we were finally seated in the restaurant. Our server brought over coffee, ‘Ohana’s famous P.O.G. drink (passion fruit, orange, and guava juices), and the Pineapple-Coconut Bread. I wasn’t a huge fan of the juice or bread (very sweet with hunks of pineapple), but my friends were.
Next, we received a large plate of fruit containing pineapple, grapes, watermelon, and cantaloupe. The remainder of our breakfast came in a large dish. This is the first Disney restaurant I have eaten at where your meal is served family-style, but I didn’t mind it. If there’s something you would like more of, you simply ask your server.
Luckily, we had three Stitch/Mickey waffles in our dish so we didn’t have to fight over them. My favorite part of our meal: the potatoes. They have a spicy, dry seasoning on top that make them fantastic. I could have eaten a whole plate of the seasoned potatoes!
The characters were quick to circle by our table. Sometimes with Disney character dining, you end up finishing your meal and have to sit and wait to see the characters, but that was not the case at ‘Ohana. Lilo, Stitch, and Mickey all came by and we were appreciative of those sitting next to us who offered to take our pictures. Lilo was my favorite; her outfit is adorable!
We finished our meal and took a picture with Pluto (wearing a lei) on our way out. Although we did not get in and out of the restaurant as quickly as I would have liked (we were headed to the parks after all), I very much enjoyed the ‘Ohana Character Breakfast.
Dine At ‘Ohana
Enjoy the ‘Ohana Character Breakfast during your next trip to Walt Disney World. With the chance to meet Lilo and Stitch, explore the beautiful Polynesian Village Resort, and eat a yummy breakfast complete with Mickey waffles, it’s a great way to start your day at Disney!
Tip: Have breakfast at ‘Ohana before visiting Magic Kingdom or Epcot. You can ride on the monorail from the Polynesian to both parks.
