But First, Coffee

Paradox (Pair Of Docs) Coffee & Bistro is a visually appealing coffee shop serving breakfast all day and lunch, along with an array of pastries like muffins and scones. Grab a yogurt parfait or bagel along with a delicious Reverie Roasters coffee drink, tea, or Lotus energy drink as you soak up the stylish decor, which includes a cozy fireplace, inviting you to stay awhile.

Here are the best things to do when jumping off Kansas I-70 exits.

Blu Restaurant

Let’s start with Blu Restaurant and Bar, a charming upscale restaurant that sets itself apart with its exposed brick walls, beautiful artwork, and fresh flowers on every table. The ambiance is perfect for a romantic dinner or a special celebration.

I recommend trying their Angus burgers – they are mouthwateringly delicious. The tasty BBQ Burger is topped with sweet BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, bacon, and a crispy onion ring.

Bella’s

Bella’s Italian Restaurant is another impressive address in Junction City. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal or an upscale dining experience, Bella’s has you covered. The friendly staff and great food make it a popular choice among locals and visitors alike.

The complimentary herbed rolls upon arrival are a nice touch. One of their standout dishes is the spaghetti and meatballs—filling, affordable, and flavorful. Add a side of Alfredo to kick it up a notch.

Tyme Out Steakhouse

Next up is Tyme Out Steakhouse, a local hotspot in Grandview Plaza that exudes a unique charm with its thousands of Crown Royal bags hanging from the ceiling and walls. This place truly reflects the local flavor.

Tyme Out is known for its steaks (their garlic butter steak is a must-try dish that will leave your taste buds craving more) and schnitzel. Besides having a meal there, Tyme Out is just a fun place to hang.

2 Peaches

If you’re looking for a Southern-inspired meal, head to 2 Peaches, famous for its comfort food faces and desserts of the day. The menu boasts chicken and waffles, shrimp & grits, catfish, wings, and pork chops. Sides like collards, cornbread, fried okra, and yams add the perfect finishing touch to your meal.

Junction City’s Food Hall Concept

A newbie to Junction City’s restaurant list is Highwind Brewing Co., Junction City’s local brewery and food hall offering two tasty chef-driven eats: Mill Pizza and 726 Bistro. Dive into artisan pizza creations and fresh salads at Mill Pizza.

They even have cauliflower crusts for those looking for a healthier option.

726 Bistro is a trendy spot known for hearty bowls, nachos, burgers, and shareable plates that are perfect for enjoying with friends. You’ll surely become a regular once you step into this stylish, fun, and welcoming gem.

Stacy’s Restaurant

Stacy’s Restaurant is another Junction City/Grandview Plaza gem that locals swear by. You will likely see many of them gathered at an outside table. This cozy spot is a go-to for breakfast (served all day!) or lunch, serving classic, perfectly cooked dishes.

I enjoy Stacy’s omelets, namely the ham & Swiss, served with hash browns and toast.

The friendly staff and the overall welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant make it a perfect spot to start your day.

Tasty Hawaiian Food

International food fans should give Onolicious Hawaiian BBQ, a local eatery run by a retired Fort Riley husband-and-wife team, a look. Enjoy a taste of the tropics with dishes like Kalua pig, pork lumpia, wings, and BBQ beef.

The Chicken Katsu—a crispy fried chicken dish served with rice and macaroni salad—will transport your taste buds straight to Hawaii.

More International Eats

Junction City is no one-trick pony. You might be surprised to find authentic Jamaican cuisine at Negril Caribbean Restaurant. This vibrant Caribbean restaurant features jerked meats, oxtail, curries, and sides like fried plantains, rice and peas, and brown chicken stew.

Wash it down with one of their popular Jamaican sodas for the full island experience. The colorful decor is much appreciated.

Junction City has a Japanese steakhouse, Mexican eateries (El Patron Dos is our fave!), Chinese options, Korean, and sushi, too.

Thomas’ Taste of Chicago

Aside from international flavors, how about a taste of Chicago? Thomas’ Taste of Chicago in downtown Junction City allows guests to indulge in Chicago-style hot dogs, Polish sausage, gyros, chicken dishes, burgers, subs, and more. This spot brings the flavors of the Windy City right to your plate.

The Cove at Acorns Resort

For a unique dining experience by the lake, head over to The Cove Bar & Grill at Acorns Resort in Milford. This lakeside eatery in the rolling Flint Hills offers a wide range of cuisine, from burgers and nachos to fried Shrooms, country-fried elk steak, smoked meats, and shrimp tacos.

This rockin’ restaurant, accessible by boat, car, or on foot, is perfect for soaking up the beautiful views while enjoying a delicious meal.

Junction City’s Sweet Tooth Satisfiers

If you have a sweet tooth like me, stop by Frost and Flour – a newer downtown bakery that serves small-batch artisan ice cream from Bliss in Indiana. Their PB&J dessert is out of this world good!

The bakery itself is Instagram-worthy with its festive decor and calming color scheme. Treat yourself to cookies or macarons while you’re there!

Daylight Donuts and The Donut Palace are two other stops to brighten your day. Kolaches are a savory alternative to sweet donuts, Long Johns, and pastries.

A Happening Food Truck Scene

Junction City also boasts a commendable food truck scene that will tempt your taste buds. From The Best Hamburger and By Yuri’s Pizza to Taste of India, 10th Street Deli Bulgogi Box (Korea), and La Hacienda on Wheels, there is no shortage of options to choose from.

JC’s BBQ & Grill

Lastly, JC’s BBQ & Grill is where you go if you’re jonesing for tender and juicy smoked meats. This part sports bar, part American-style family restaurant, has TVs everywhere, so you can catch the game while enjoying your meal.

I couldn’t get enough of their pulled pork with Mac & Cheese, but the smoked turkey, ribs, and brisket are popular, too. Finish your meal with their S’mores dessert—it’s decadent!
