Why You Should Choose a Getaway 5K Run
My husband, Eddie, and I started a healthy lifestyle about two months ago. This meant joining a weight loss group, incorporating light exercise into our daily routines, and for me, giving up diet soda, my #1 vice. We came across the Getaway distance runs in St. Pete, directly across the state from us, and knew it would be a way to take our lifestyle change to the next level.
As it ended up, I was already obligated for the date, but Eddie gladly offered to run on my behalf and represent the blog. He had around one month to prepare for the Getaway 5k, which also offers 10K and 15K options as well. There are other getaway races around the country in San Antonio, TX, and Boulder, CO. They encourage anyone and everyone to participate, whether you run, walk, or even skip. Families are strongly welcome.
Note: We were compensated for joining and running in the Getaway St. Pete 5K. As always, opinions and reviews are 100% ours and unbiased.
Eddie’s Getaway Journey
At age 53, the Getaway St. Pete 5K was my very first as a runner. Needless to say, once I made the commitment to run, it became a huge motivator for me to lose some extra pounds. It also motivated me to get out of the house and begin training.
