The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive
Orlando, Florida is one of the most popular vacation destinations in the world. From top-rated tourist attractions to incredible shopping and more restaurants than you can count, it’s easy to see why. When planning your next trip to Orlando, consider staying at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive. It “provides all the comforts of home with experiences like you have never had before.”
I spent a weekend in Orlando with two of my friends to visit Walt Disney World and do some shopping. From the hotel’s super comfortable beds to the incredible location in the heart of Orlando and close proximity to I-Drive 360, the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive provided the perfect home for our girls’ weekend!
My friends and I stayed in one of the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive’s Garden View rooms. Our 300 square foot room had two queen beds (with pillow-top mattresses, BeWell bedding, and feather pillows), a 40-inch flat screen TV featuring on-demand movies, mini fridge, Wolfgang Puck coffee, plus Blue Harmony toiletries and massaging showers in the bathroom. Our Garden View room also had a balcony accessible via sliding glass doors with views of the pool and two chairs for sitting outside.
After walking nine miles at Walt Disney World the first day of our vacation and twelve miles the next, we looked forward to ending our days in the Wyndham’s beds. They were incredibly comfortable! We were able to get a good night’s sleep; recharged for the day ahead.
Traveling with your family? Family-friendly suites are available that include bunk beds and TVs with parental controls. Pets are also welcome at the Wyndham!
The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive just went through a multi-million dollar renovation. In addition to 613 revamped guest rooms, the hotel also has a 24-hour fitness center with a sauna and steam room, convention center perfect for meetings or weddings (four ballrooms to choose from), concierge services, play set for children, free Wi-Fi, and three on-site restaurants: Gatorville Poolside Bar and Grille (serving a breakfast buffet from 6:30 to 11 AM daily), The Eye Bar (lobby technology bar serving Starbucks coffee), and room service (available from 6 AM to 12 AM).
My favorite amenities at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive are the two pools and spa. Both pools are heated and while the main pool has cute seating groups scattered around it, the quiet pool has padded chaise lounges. I loved getting to lay out in the nice padded lounge chairs!
A huge plus to staying at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive is its location in the heart of I-Drive. You are only minutes from Orlando’s biggest attractions while several restaurants and entertainment options line the hotel’s parking lot: Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant, Chuy’s, The Escape Game, Blazing Tomato Pizza and Pasta, Cold Stone Creamery, Longhorn Steakhouse, Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, Red Robin, and more!
The Wyndham offers a free shuttle to Universal and SeaWorld Orlando, a huge perk for those visiting those attractions during their vacation.
Immaculate Grounds And Beautiful Decor
All 22-acres of the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive’s grounds are incredibly well taken care of. Lush tropical landscaping is found throughout the property, as is a lagoon and several courtyards. You certainly don’t feel like you are in the middle of Orlando, Florida here!
The Wyndham’s inside decor is great, too! The furnishings are very modern and aesthetically pleasing. I was especially fond of the flowers hanging on the walls behind the concierge desk, light fixtures, and the giant games (Scrabble and Connect Four) in the lounge.
The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive is the official hotel of I-Drive 360. This entertainment and dining complex is becoming quite the hot spot in Orlando! Best of all, you can walk to I-Drive 360 from the Wyndham, although free parking is available on site.
There are five attractions at I-Drive 360: The Coca-Cola Orlando Eye (a 400-foot observation wheel offering 360-degree views of the city), SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, Madame Tussauds Orlando, Skeletons: Museum of Osteology (showcasing 400 skeletons of animals from around the world), and a 7D Dark Ride Adventure.
I-Drive 360 has a plethora of restaurants to choose from: Shake Shack, Yard House, Tapa Toro, Uncle Julio’s Mexican, The Sugar Factory, Lisbon Portuguese Cuisine, Cafe 34 Istanbul Turkish Kitchen & Hookah Lounge, Tin Roof, Cowgirls Rockbar, Outback Steakhouse, Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Sofra Mediterranean Grill, Kotai Sushi, iCafe de Paris, Great American Cookie, Pretzel Maker, and Ben & Jerry’s. The area’s shops include Tervis, Flip Flop Shop, 360 Gifts, and Caleoni Sunglasses.
Be sure to check out the free water show out front of I-Drive 360 set to music with color changing lights.
