One of the most awesome offerings in the Sunshine State is LEGOLAND Florida, a theme park with colorful, family-friendly hotels in Winter Haven. LEGOLAND is clean, easily accessible, designed for kids, and offers plenty of activities that your family will enjoy. When you visit the park, the smartest thing to do is stay the night, with two of the three LEGOLAND Florida hotels only steps away.
Let us help you decide which one is best for your visit.

Thanks to LEGOLAND for hosting my stay and some of my meals. As always, opinions and reviews are 100% mine and unbiased.

Who it’s best for: Families who want the whole LEGO experience with immediate access to the park and a variety of room themes to match your child’s interests.

Pirate Island Hotel: A Swashbuckling Stay Next Door
Sharing a lobby with the LEGOLAND Hotel, the Pirate Island Hotel offers a bold and colorful pirate theme with exclusive experiences and design touches that make it a fan favorite—especially among young adventurers.

LEGOLAND Beach Retreat: Laid-Back Lakeside Bungalows
For those who prefer a more relaxed resort vibe, the LEGOLAND Beach Retreat is across Lake Dexter—just a few minutes away via a free shuttle. This resort is all about colorful bungalows, open space, and a more vacation-like feel.

Highlights:
- 83 LEGO-themed bungalows grouped into coastal-style “coves,” each with its own outdoor play area.
- Each unit features a king bed for adults and a bunk or trundle setup for children.
- Mini-fridge, coffee maker, and a small patio with seating.
- Heated outdoor pool, sandy playgrounds, resort-style dining, and daily activities.

My Personal Faves at LEGOLAND Florida Hotels
A Breakfast Buffet That Comes to You
One of the most impressive perks of staying at a LEGOLAND hotel is the included breakfast, and it’s not your average continental spread. At Shipwreck Restaurant and Bricks Family Restaurant, breakfast is served right to your table, buffet-style.
You’ll enjoy bacon, sausage, cheesy potatoes, scrambled eggs, fluffy biscuits and gravy, mini pancakes, and fresh fruit. To say it is all delicious would be an understatement. If you need more of anything, just ask; it is bottomless.

Drinks like coffee, soft drinks, and orange juice are also included, and the servers are more than happy to bring seconds of anything you’d like. It’s hearty, hot, and a stress-free way to fuel up before hitting the park.

Dine Like a Captain at Shipwreck Restaurant
At dinner, head back to Shipwreck Restaurant to feast Pirate-style on three buffet-style menu options: Pirate Platter, Plant-Based Skillet, or Seadog Skillet. I love them all, so try to rotate between my visits.
The Seadog Skillet includes grilled flank steak, juicy rotisserie chicken, citrusy garlic shrimp, and wild rice pilaf. The Pirate Platter features all the traditional barbecued meats, including pulled pork, spare ribs, smoked sausage, and beef brisket, accompanied by baked beans on the side.

Both meals come with a delightful salad featuring poppy seed dressing, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, roasted vegetables, and billowy rolls, as well as soft drinks.
And yes, dessert is a warm, gooey skillet cookie with ice cream (or plant-based dessert) that’s worth saving room for. Prices are currently $40 per adult and $16 for children.
Trust me—this is theme park dining done right.

Cruise into Extra Fun with Pontoon Rides and Mini Golf
Staying overnight at the LEGOLAND Hotel or Pirate Island Hotel opens the door to some unexpected extras—including pontoon boat rides on Lake Eloise! It’s a relaxing way to wind down the day and enjoy scenic lake views just beyond the hotel’s mini-golf course.
This is the kind of fun that goes beyond the park gates—making your stay feel more like a full-on resort vacation than just a hotel night.

Final Thoughts

Book early, especially during school breaks and holiday weekends—these hotels are incredibly popular and tend to fill up fast!
